We enjoyed doing a different workshop than the standard one offered. This found. A nice couple who offer a biology workshop outside their busy work. You come to their home and to their family house. Everything is told about their garden and you also go to a local market. Delicious dishes cooked that the local people also eat with family and friends. It was nice and tasty, really recommended!

True Cultural Experience
We had such a wonderful experience at Hoi An Organic Cooking Class by Vy.
The day was much more than just a cooking class. We started by learning about the organic produce and ingredients used in Vietnamese cooking, before visiting the local market, which was a great way to experience everyday Vietnamese life and learn more about the fresh ingredients.
We then went to the family’s beautiful 100-year-old home, where the chef taught us how to prepare and cook three traditional Vietnamese dishes. Everything was explained clearly, the food was delicious, and the setting made the whole experience feel very authentic and personal.
One of the highlights of our time in Hoi An. If you want to learn about Vietnamese food and culture rather than simply attend a cooking class, we would highly recommend it.

Must do if in Hoi An
” For us aged 19 and 21 from Manchester we couldn’t have imagine to get to know two unbelievable traditional local hoi AN people better. The VY cooking class opened our eyes to how Asia cook their food and how the hold process works in leading up to a heart warming meal. Vietnamese people don’t just cook food but they grow their own ingredients. Katie and chef showed us this process all morning which the knowledge of the chef is second to none. We enjoyed seeing the local market and trying food that authentic Vietnamese people have on a day to day basis. When coming to hoi an and if you want to learn about culture you have to go to organic cooking class by VY. This literally could be tik tok famous it was that good.

An amazing experience
The experience was amazing. Nhung and Nguyen do such an amazing job creating an authentic experience.
The length of visit worked perfectly with our children who absolutely loved it. This is our second time doing it and it is always an amazing and fun experience.
Food is outstanding and we will definitely be back again.

Fantastic class!
Our hosts were so amazing! They spoke great English and our conversations were really interesting. First they showed us their organic Vietnamese herb garden, then took us through their local market, then we cooked four delicious dishes together. Our highlight was cooking recipes with organic Vietnamese herbs straight from a garden, as they made the food taste so much better than the rest of the meals we have tried on the trip.
It is worth noting that there is a short bike/ motorcycle ride to the market and another short ride to the cooking class location from the meeting point so be prepared for this (clothes/ sunscreen etc.).
We highly recommend you add this class to your trip!

Amazing Experience
An amazing experience, family so welcoming, friendly and thoughtful. Very mindful of food allergy’s and preferences, going above and beyond to ensure everyone enjoyed themselves. The food itself was delicious, and not overly complex so all levels of cooks can enjoy. When I asked for recipes after the class, they typed and emailed them over the next day which was very kind. Cannot recommend this class enough!

Amazing experience for food and culture seekers!
As a long-time fan of Vietnamese cuisine, taking a cooking class was at the top of my list when I visited Hoi An — and this experience completely delivered.
The organic, farm-to-table focus felt really different and unique compared to other cooking classes offered in the area. Visiting the farm was such a special touch and an important reminder of where your food actually comes from. I learned so much about the local herbs and vegetables used in Vietnamese cooking, and it gave me a whole new appreciation for the cuisine.
Vy and her family created such a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere from the moment I arrived, especially as a solo traveler. I felt genuinely welcomed the entire time, and you can tell hosting comes naturally to them. That connection to a local family added so much authenticity and culture to the experience, and made it feel far more meaningful than just a standard cooking class.
With their knowledge and help, I made a variety of dishes with a Central Vietnamese focus. After travelling through Northern and Southern Vietnam earlier in my trip, it was really interesting to see the regional differences in flavours and ingredients. Everything I made was incredibly fresh, colourful, full of flavour, and honestly just delightful to eat. What more could you want?!
I can’t wait to bring back some of what I learned into my own kitchen at home and hopefully impress some friends and family. In a city as charming as Hoi An, this ended up being one of my favourite experiences, and I’d recommend it to anyone wanting a more authentic and memorable cooking class experience.
