I arrived in Genoa with my cruise ship and, in just 30 minutes, reached the meeting point near the Serravalle Designer Outlet. The transfer was incredibly easy — from the Cruise Terminal you simply take the highway or train, and in half an hour you’re already surrounded by the rolling hills of Piedmont.
The truffle hunt was authentic and surprising. The truffle hunter from Truffle Hunter Italy guides you with your own car for about 15 minutes to the forest, where watching the truffle dog at work is something truly unique. It’s a genuine, immersive experience — far from any tourist performance.
After the search, the lunch in a historic trattoria was the highlight: soft egg with fresh black truffle, handmade pasta, and a menu that celebrates the local territory. The truffle is shaved right at the table, releasing an intoxicating aroma that fills the room.
A perfect experience for cruise travelers who want to discover something authentic, nearby, and deeply connected to Piedmont.
Highly recommended.

Shore excursion from Genoa
The meeting point near the Serravalle Designer Outlet is extremely convenient for travelers coming from Genoa or Milan: whether by car or train, it’s quick and hassle‑free to reach. It’s the ideal choice for anyone with just a few free hours, maybe after a shopping session, who wants to experience something truly authentic.
The truffle hunt was the most surprising part of the experience. The truffle hunter guided us into the woods and introduced us to the world of truffles with clear and passionate explanations. You watch the dog, you listen to its signals, you learn how to read the ground. We even learned how to recognize the aromas of the finest truffles, a detail that made everything even more fascinating.
Lunch in the historic trattoria was a revelation: honest Piedmontese cuisine, made of dishes that truly represent the region. It was one of the best meals I’ve had in Italy, with deep flavors and freshly shaved truffle releasing a warm, enveloping aroma. The homemade desserts were the perfect ending — simple, genuine, and truly delicious. Recommended for food & wine lovers and anyone curious about truffle culture!
