We received an introductory lesson to tea making and the tea culture in Japan prior to entering the room for the tea ceremony. Our guide was delightful and so sweet. She made matcha first and then we had the opportunity to make it. My husband was easily able to sit on the floor…it was not a comfortable position for me and our friend so she provided a stool for us to sit on. We learned that matcha is not our favorite type of tea but we enjoyed the experience immensely.
Love the tea ceremony. These ladies taught us the history and showed us how it is traditionally done.
Perfect for a rainy day. It was an absolute delight. It was educational, elegant, and exactly what I needed to start this cultural vacation.
I had such a wonderful experience at this tea ceremony. I was introduced to the history behind the tradition. Then I enjoyed watching matcha being made, as well as getting to make my own matcha. I also got to try delicious Japanese dessert.
Absolutely amazing experience. Marikyo shared so much of her culture with me.
Bought this as a Christmas present for my brother who loves matcha and could not recommend enough. Was great to learn about the history and making of matcha as well as being a part of a traditional tea ceremony. Our host was lovey and explained everything so well. We definitely came out with a much better appreciation of the culture around matcha and tea ceremonies in Japan.
A great experience to make your own matcha experience with a traditionally trained matcha experience. Would recommend to friends
Very interesting and very useful for learning Japanese traditions. Highly recommended!!
Great experience, we did matcha and understood all the tradition about it. I will recommended. Really traditional !!!
I really enjoyed this experience!! It was so emotional because she explained how Japanese people have a culture of fixing broken cups and they see beauty in that! Also, this was one of the matcha I have ever tried in my life
