The experience was authentically conducted by an in-house monk, who began the session with blessings and chanting of sutras and beating of drums. It can suit and accommodate a family with kids, so that my daughters have started to be interested in things Zen or the value of meditation. The young monk was able to respond to our queries about the process, benefits, and application of Zen meditation, and how it relates to other forms of meditation. He was accommodating to our adjusted schedule as we had minors to take care for. There was a translator and photographer as well who made the connection and communication easier, taking photos while we are in deep meditation, and joining our exchanges and conversations. We learned the value and process of Matcha Tea Ceremony, and our key take away of using Zen meditation to rise beyond one's emotions and circumstances, and be able to control oneself. It was the first to e that my family did this together, which made it more engaging, meaningful, and something to recommend for tourists wishing to experience and understand authentication Japanese philosophy
