サマルカンドから：タジキスタンの七湖日帰り旅行

We booked the Seven Lakes tour from Samarkand through GetYourGuide, with Centralia Travel as the local operator. We arrived at the meeting point as agreed at 7:00 a.m. and left at around 7:15 a.m. with a group of eight people, heading towards the Tajik border. We reached the border at around 8:30 a.m. After going through border control, we were met on the Tajik side by a member of staff. However, only three out of the eight participants had managed to cross the border. The other five were still missing, and we were simply told to wait. We then spent until after 10:00 a.m. standing by the roadside in the heat. Other tour operators had already collected their guests and continued with their trips, while we were still stuck there waiting. The staff member kept making phone calls and tried to reassure us, but no clear solution was ever offered. The remaining participants never arrived, and eventually it became obvious that the tour was no longer going to happen. At that point, we contacted GetYourGuide and explained the situation. The tour was then cancelled and a full refund was arranged. Even so, the whole experience was extremely disappointing. We had to cross back through the border, wait yet again, and then arrange our own taxi back to our hotel in Samarkand. We will also be submitting the additional transport costs for reimbursement. The most frustrating part was losing an entire day of our holiday. We had really been looking forward to visiting the Seven Lakes. The tour was meant to be a birthday present, and it was also our last day in Samarkand. Instead of enjoying a special day out, we spent hours at the border waiting, not knowing what was happening, and trying to organise our own way back. We have always had good experiences with GetYourGuide in the past, and they did respond to our complaint this time as well. However, the organisation by Centralia Travel on the day was very disappointing. If problems arise at the border, we would expect the operator to come up with a clear solution or an alternative much more quickly, rather than leaving guests waiting for hours with no real plan. What an amazing experience visiting the Seven Lakes with guide, Zhan. He was smart, funny, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. He made the journey even more enjoyable with interesting stories and facts about Tajikistan’s history, culture, and traditions. One thing that really stood out was how much he knew about the meaning and history behind the Tajikistan flag. Zhan was also very attentive throughout the trip and made sure we had a great experience. The Seven Lakes are absolutely breathtaking, and having Zhan as a guide made the experience even more memorable. Highly recommended!

Awesome experience while visiting Seven Lakes in Tajikistan from Samarkand with Centralia. Great adventure from border crossing on foot to swimming in the last (highest) lake. Great group of about 20 tourists from all over the world. The Panjakent market was a special treat. Nice lunch at I belive the third lake. Our guide Zhan was awesome, great English, very knowledgeable and respectful. Despite being a very long day this tour with this agency is highly recommended.

Zhan was a great tour guide. Very knowledgeable and personable but didn't feel like he had to talk the entire time. Incredible scenery but be ready for a a long day in a van with comfortable seats.

A wonderful experience with the guide Khan, who was an excellent guide. Beautiful views, seven pristine lakes that are worth visiting! Absolutely recommended.

Thanks for the experience, we truly enjoyed Bekki's and the other guys' service who lives in Tajikistan and studies interpretation. It's a pity it was raining and we couldn't walk up to the seventh lake. Maybe you could plan more walking/trekking for more active groups, otherwise it's highly recommended.

They didn't contact me the day before the Tour to arrange for the pick-up, and they didn't answer my question for that data. So I had to find another firm last minute.

Went to Tajikistan for a tour with this tour operator, very much liked it, I advise everyone!

This tour was fabulous. The guide in Tajikistan Jon was incredible. He had so much knowledge to share. The seven lakes is very much worth a visit. I would highly recommend this tour
