Wonderful! Highly recommend as an all-in-one package to get your touristy culture fix. The staff are very fluent in English and very accommodating. Transgender and plus size friendly! The building is a couple blocks from the station so it's easy to get to. Nearby is the Hanazono Shrine if you feel like getting more photo ops with traditional and spiritual locations. The shrine also sells omikuji fortunes, omamori amulets, and ema wish tablets. There's a main shrine with bells to rattle and an Inari shrine with a row of torii gates. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, and speak excellent English. I got water while I waited for the changing room and when I came back from walking about. Be sure to remove your shoes and put them into the shoe locker before stepping onto the red floor. They will give you a large black bag for your belongings and clothes, and a smaller stylish bag to hold your valuables. However, you can also put things in your kimono sleeves as a pocket. This place is transgender friendly and plus size friendly! They ask for guests to go to the changing room of your "biological sex", however they state outright they will get any style of kimono for you. I went into the womens' changing room and they asked me what color or style mens kimono I wished for and brought me three options. Theres a bit more limited options for plus size (I'd be a 5XL in japanese sizes; 4XL had more options), but the kimono still looked very good and beautiful. There is no changing in front of others, there is a curtain where they ask you to put on the nylon undergarments on alone (you can put these on over your own underwear), and then still inside the curtain two dressers will help you put on the kimono. I was asked if I wanted a masculine hair styling, which I liked very much although I declined in favor of putting on some floral hairclips. For the photos, there are various kinds of geta shoes as well. Everyone was very friendly and professional, especially about my size and kimono choice. The tea ceremony itself was wonderful. This wasn't a full ceremony where everyone sits in silence as the host makes everyone tea one by one, but an introduction to tea ceremony where the host gave several short, informative talks. The host showed us how she cleans the tools before making tea, making tea herself, and we even got to make our own matcha by whisking. We enjoyed two sweets and the tea we made, then we had opportunities for taking our own photos. Sitting in seiza is absolutely not mandatory, and the host offered for us to sit how we like to be comfortable, and you can ask for a low seat (and table) during your booking. This is a more informal and informative abbreviation of a tea ceremony, and I highly recommend it for beginners.

This was a very enjoyable experience. It was great fun to make the sweets we then got to eat. And they were very delicious. Mia, our tea ceremony host, was outstanding. She was funny, informative, respectful. Really an outstanding guide. Arigato Mia !

Had a lovely time at this experience. Mami (sp?) was a great hostess who not only gave good instructions but also provided a lot of cultural background information. Yes, this event is a bit touristy, but it handles it well. I did not feel rushed as the staff focused on making it feel relaxing. The only recommendation is that the Ninja Dojo experience is right down the street; despite being different businesses, it would be nice if the event times didn't conflict so that tourists can go from one to the other.

We enjoyed the Japanese sweets class as well as the ceremony, the staff were very welcoming and having them dress us in Kimonos was a cool experience as well. Would recommend!

What a wonderful experience we did the tea ceremony along with sweets. Kurumi was our host. She was absolutely wonderful. Very patient with us during the sweet making process as it takes skill and patience to create these sweet treats by hand. We were able to choose the shape and color of our sweet treats with tools provided by them. As soon as I walk through the door, my husband and I Were given a Kimona and a handbag to use as part of the ceremony. Did not realize how complicated it was to put on a Komona. My husband and I were able to choose our own Kimona and one of the ladies got me dressed trapping me up with the kimona lol. And brushed and fixed my hair with a nice flower hair pin to finish . The entire time Kurumi taught us about Japanese tradition and history both during the suite making process and during the Matcha tea ceremony. She even offered to take pictures of us ! The place is absolutely beautiful inside. Lots of places to take pictures and they even provide props. We greatly recommend to all folks visiting the Asakusa area .

Amazing experience! If I come back to Tokyo, definitely want to book again. We had a really great time and the workers were very kind, friendly and funny! I was so happy with this experience and if you’re debating on booking, just do it! It’s definitely worth it.

OMG! We had the most incredible time making sweets, at the traditional tea ceremony, and making new friends. This experience was organized down to the last detail, making this experience smooth and enjoyable. The added touch of having photo opportunities set up was a nice added detail that allowed us to capture the moments. We'd give this experience five stars and two thumbs up... highly recommend this.

We had a lot of fun. We knew this was going to be a more "touristy" experience, but we all enjoyed the process of choosing/dressing in the kimonos, and then also taking some cool pictures. The Wagashi treat-making was cool and fun, too (though our teenager liked the creative/making process, he admitted the bean paste taste was "not his favorite"). The tea ceremony itself was both informative and fun, and we were all glad we tried this probably-once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The staff were all super sweet and helpful when dressing you in the kimono. We got to make two of our own sweet and whisk our own matcha, and learn the culture behind the practice!
