Great tour, great guide! Lots of history and local insights!

Sam was a fabulous tour guide. He led us through the old city while keeping us in the shade on a hot day. His narrative was engaging with much about landmarks and history interspersed with humor and warmth. I would highly recommend his tour. It is well worth a very generous gratuity.

Sam led a fantastic tour! You got to see all the main sites to see and learn about the history. I really appreciated getting to learn more about the history of Quebec, and Sam had a wealth of knowledge to share. It was really cool hearing about the city through the eyes of someone born and raised there. He knew about how the city has changed and also had recommendations on spots to check out. He was also funny. Highly recommend!

A very knowledgeable and entertaining guide. Best walking tour we have been on for awhile and we always do a walking tour when we visit a new place. Could not recommend enough and loved the bingo card of places to visit while in Quebec City.

We have been to Quebec City several times and have taken a few different walking tours. Without a doubt this was the best! The guide Sam spoke passionately about his city and the French Canadian culture. His presentation of the history of the city and landmarks was informative, interesting and all topped off with his great sense humour. Highly recommended!

Our guide, Sam, brought his quirky sense of humor, sharp wit and deep base of historical knowledge to bear to make for a fantastic tour — raising all our spirits despite miserable weather. We especially loved how he used the phrase ‘Je me souviens’ as leitmotif, coming back to the phrase again and again throughout the tour. Other highlights included reference to the Hitchcock film ‘I Confess’ (which I confess I did not know was set and filmed in Quebec) as well as the Morrin library / former prison (which we subsequently toured ). Guides like Sam are why we always try to start a city break with a guided tour. Highly recommended.

We have done the free (please tip them well!) city tours in several cities and every single one has been excellent. Sam was an excellent guide—fluent in both French and English. Kept it light and fun—with a mix of history, pop culture, and other interesting tidbits. He’s from the area and has been doing this for 10+ years now, so he knows a lot of cool things and communicates them well. Also gave us a nice recommendation for lunch after.
