Our guide was super valuable - his name is Thierry. There is so much to know about the cathedral and all of its contents that you need an expert to give you some key highlights. He was great at communicating and informing us of history of the cathedral as well as the art.
Costly yes, but knowledge is valuable and worth every dollar or euro. The guide pointed out many important pieces and facts about Norte Dame.
Allow plenty of time to get to the cathedral because traffic is horrible! We never made it to our tour.

When I booked this tour a few months before our trip, the tour advertised “skip the line” access to the cathedral. When we arrived for our tour, that was not the case and we waited in line for 30 minutes and admission was free. Our guide was pleasant and knowledgeable, but other than him telling us about the history while in line (you are not supposed to talk in the cathedral), we certainly did not feel it was worth 300 plus Euros for four people on this tour. Very disappointed in the non-transparency of this tour description. We use Viator frequently and have not had a bad experience like this before. Was not worth the money.
Thank you for your review. We'd like to correct the record for future guests, because the central claim here is inaccurate. This tour has never been advertised as "skip the line" — that phrase appears nowhere in the listing. The voucher you received at booking also states in writing that the tour does not include skip-the-line access, and that entry to the cathedral is free. Admission and queue times are set by the cathedral itself, not by One Journey, and that is documented in the booking materials provided to you before travel. The tour is, and was sold as, a guided experience with a licensed expert guide — who you confirmed was pleasant and knowledgeable. As the description notes, commentary is delivered outside the cathedral, as silence is observed within. The details you were looking for were in the listing and on your voucher throughout. Adrianna was an excellent guide and gave us a lot of good information. This was a good way to begin our day in Paris. We definitely recommend this tour with a small group. There were 5 in our group.
Francois was our guide and he was fabulous. Very knowledgeable and provided a wonderful narrative about the history and restoration of the cathedral. A fantastic tour guide.
Our guide of Notre Dame Cathedral was with an amazing lady called Marine Bonnet. She was extremely knowledgeable and a fantastic storyteller. She gave us lots of detail about the outside of the Cathedral including the statues and their meanings and the importance of Saint Dennis. Her knowledge of history, the arts and of the Catholic religion was abundant and we learnt many new facts. All information conveyed about the inside of the cathedral was equally as interesting. On our return to our hotel, we both looked up many of the things she had told us about as we wanted to learn more. She was a very inspirational and friendly tour guide.
I loved seeing the renovated Notre Dame, but especially wanted to hear the precious little snippets of information that bring the place to life. Martina was charming, knowledgeable and applied herself energetically to ensure our group learned about Notre Dame and enjoyed our time there.
Paulina was fantastic and very knowledgeable on the experience of Notre Dame. She answered every and all questions and had many stories to tell about Notre Dame. Mass was exceptional. I would recommend her as a guide every day. Thank you Paulina.
