We had a really great time visiting Big Almaty Lake! The scenery was absolutely beautiful, especially as we got higher into the mountains. The lake itself was stunning, but honestly, the views along the way were probably our favorite part of the trip. We booked the tour with Panda Travel, and everything went smoothly. The transportation was comfortable, everything was well organized, and we had plenty of time to walk around, enjoy the views, and take photos. Our guide, Amina, was really friendly and made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. If you have some extra time while you're in Almaty, I definitely recommend visiting. It's a beautiful place and a really nice way to spend part of the day.

Big Almaty Lake was one of the most beautiful places we visited during our stay in Kazakhstan. The mountain views are incredible, and the color of the lake is even more impressive in person. We had plenty of time to enjoy the scenery, take photos and just walk around without feeling rushed. The whole trip was well planned by Panda Travel, from the transportation to the timing at each stop. Everything went smoothly and the group size was comfortable. Our guide Amina kept us informed throughout the day and created a very relaxed atmosphere. A really beautiful experience and a great way to see the nature around Almaty. Very happy we chose Panda Travel for this trip.

We are excited since we made sure to Dontae Big Almaty Lake tour as our last activity in Almaty. However, a night before the tour they told us it was cancelled. I was devastated. Tried booking and 2 other tours we booked got canceled. One last try, the 4th time and IT PUSHED THROUGH! Panda travel communicates but maybe due to busy schedule.. replies late. The tour was smooth however we started late resulting to us rushing per destination. The Big Almaty lake we just spent 30 mins. Ayusay Falls maybe 15 mins. The hot spring 15 minutes. I personally suggest Ayusay to be excluded in the tour. It’s not much to see. Prefer having a longer time at BAO. The tour guide is somehow disinterested. No briefing was done per Destination. We were happy with BAO. But please to some tour guides, make our trip memorable, give us some interesting facts.

My friends and I had a wonderful day exploring Big Almaty from Almaty, Kazakhstan. Rustam shared so many interesting facts and guided us confidently, pointing out the best places to stop and take photos. Nurtas was also great—very attentive, patient, and always making sure we were doing okay. The whole experience felt smooth and well-planned from start to finish. We left with great memories and would 100% book again!

The visit to Big Almaty Lake, if you have visited other lakes, does not offer anything special, but the view at Alma Arasan is really worth it. The total tour is not tiring.
