We booked a class for our family of 3 and were very happy with the experience we gained. Tomoko was great host and very patient with our young son. At the end of the day, we came away with the skills to make our own sushi rolls and a brief insight into japanese culture by tea. Overall, a highly recommended activity guided by a very friendly instructor that we would not hesitate to recommend anyone.

I saw Tomoko sensei's instagram and really want to join the class since the pictures of the food and also the story of the posts are all beautiful. So, when I have a plan to visit Sapporo I enroll the class and experience it. It's trully a great one! Tomoko patiently shown every single steps of making the food, so I can make a beautiful seafood sushi roll. She also taught me how to make a delicious tempura. After finishing the meal, Tomoko served us a tea ceremony and cute wagashi. The wagashi is too cute to eat 😄 I really enjoy the experience. So, if you love to cook and have a plan to visit Sapporo, you better book this class and put it in your itinerary, together with visiting Maruyama Koen and Maruyama Zoo 😊 A must try class. Very recommended 👍

If you want a truly delicious meal with a gracious and knowledgeable host in her beautiful home, book this experience. Take a short subway ride and Tomoko will pick you up from near the station with a big smile. This is next to a famous shrine, park, and zoo, so plan to visit one/all before/after this experience. You will leave informed, full, and with a new friend!

Laughter did not cease while cooking with Tomoko. Cooking and her warm mood relieved the tension of exhibiting abroad. The landscape of the town covered with the snow with her daughter seems to be so strong that it is still unfolding. In the spring, they cover the summer with charisma in the summer, and I want to see the changes of spring and summer. If you've come with a leisurely schedule in Sapporo, it's a good idea to get away from Sapporo city centre and experience the various Japanese looks in the area near Tomoko's Kitchen Studios.

We had a wonderful time learning to make sushi and tempura. Tomoko is very professional, and informative! She is a very sweet and friendly person…had a great time! Will be keeping in touch with her for sure!

I had the absolute pleasure of taking a cooking class in the home of a wonderful woman in Sapporo — and it turned out to be one of the most meaningful experiences of my entire trip to Japan. She’s not only an incredibly knowledgeable cook, but also a generous and thoughtful teacher. The class was hands-on, personal, and filled with stories and laughter. I learned so much — not just about cooking, but about Japanese hospitality and daily life. What made this experience truly special was Tomoko herself. Her kindness stayed with me long after the class ended, and we’ve even kept in touch since. I feel as though I’ve made a lifelong friend in her. If you’re visiting Sapporo and want to connect with local culture in an authentic, intimate way, I cannot recommend this experience enough. It was the highlight of my time in Hokkaido.

If you happen to be planning a trip to Sapporo, join Tomoko’s class and learn some new skills! This experience is truly memorable; not only did I learn how to make seafood rolls, cook tempura, and prepare matcha, but I also enjoyed sharing conversations with a newfound friend. Tomoko is an incredibly wonderful guide, and I appreciate her for being attentive the whole time. She takes time to explain the step-by-step process and makes sure I feel comfortable always. Would highly recommend!
