Wonderful private tour on 7th Oct — I was the only guest. Wen my tiur guide was easy to find, incredibly knowledgeable, and shared beautiful insights into the basilica’s mosaics, baldacchino, golden ceiling, and sacred Confessio. Warm, thoughtful, perfectly paced. Highly recommended!
I joined the 8:45am Pilgrim Tour of St. Mary Major Basilica on Wednesday 7th October — and I was the only guest, so it turned into such a lovely, personal experience. Wen made meeting up incredibly easy! She messaged me ahead of time with exact details: she’d be standing to the left of the fountain (facing the Basilica), and she even sent a photo showing exactly where she was. With such clear instructions, I spotted her straight away — no confusion at all. Having the tour one-on-one with her was such a treat. She shared beautiful, in-depth insights into the basilica’s history, art, and spiritual significance with such warmth, passion, and care. Everything was perfectly paced just for me — her explanations were thoughtful, gentle, and really meaningful. She was attentive, friendly, and made the whole morning feel special — like being shown around by someone who truly loves and knows this place deeply. I can’t recommend Wen highly enough. Great major Basilica. Guide was great: friendly, knowledgeable, answered every question and took extra time answering questions and putting up with my limp.
My daughter went here on a pilgrimage and told me it was a must see. After visiting I agree! It will not disappoint . Wen my guide was very professional and a wealth of knowledge. I learned so much more from her than if I visited on my own.
This was a very comprehensive tour and we were given a lot of information and time to experience the relics and sacred spaces.

Wen was so great! I was running a little behind but arrived before the tour began. She is clearly knowledgeable in all aspects of this tour. She was also so sweet and kind- allowing some space and time to reflect at certain parts of the tour and not overwhelming me with information like other tour guides do. She mixed history with religion and architecture, which all really enhanced the beauty of St Mary Della Nevi!
I didn’t meet our tour guide and we just went inside the church without the tour guide. I didn’t received any instruction the day before how to meet our guide.
We're sorry you didnt meet your guide. Our guide was at the meeting point (and met the other customers there) and tried to contact you by phone both my SMS and phoning but without any response. The guide was waiting at the meeting point 20 minutes before the tour was due to start.
