We are sorry to hear that the experience didn't fully meet your expectations for a traditional, in-depth historical tour, and we appreciate you clarifying the tour's style for other travelers. We want to clarify the design and focus of this particular Sightseeing Overview tour: Our primary goal with this 4-5 hour itinerary is to maximize the number of iconic New York and area landmarks you can see and photograph in a shorter amount of time. To cover the significant ground—including the incredible skyline views from Jersey—and still see multiple major sites within Manhattan, we structure the tour as a high-efficiency, panoramic overview. We understand that an in-depth, neighborhood-by-neighborhood historical explanation would be preferred by some. To provide that level of detail, however, we would only be able to visit 2 or 3 locations in the same timeframe, and unfortunately, we would have to eliminate the unique opportunity to see the stunning Manhattan skyline from across the river in New Jersey. We are so glad you found it to be a "great half day if you are looking for a driver who will take you to great views looking back at the city." This is precisely the experience we aim to deliver! For your next visit, if you are looking for a highly detailed and historical experience, we would love to recommend one of our full-day Walking History Tours or a specialized neighborhood tour (like our Greenwich Village History Tour), which are specifically designed to spend more time in fewer locations and provide that deep dive into history and local recommendations you were seeking.
