A nice experience to do if you want to take a guided moment to yourself and do some reflecting. We had the opportunity to do it all by ourselves and take as long as needed, wich was very nice. It was quite windy and the candle went out a few times, but that really was no problem. The people working in the cafe and that bring you the utensils for the ceremony were really kind.
A huge disappointment; I booked clearly available dates, ran halfway across town to make it, and I was so excited. Only to find out they didn't offer cocoa delivery, and unfortunately, I had to leave empty-handed. No one notified me in advance or made sure to block the dates on the website in case they didn't have the essential product. Overall, a sad experience.
Dear guest, We try to have ceremonial cacao on stock for people to buy after the ceremony and bring it back home. We sadly ran out of it on this occasion.
Lovely ceremony. Wondered how the self service would work but it was perfect. Staff was there but not there to allow the isolation needed for this process.
Beautiful experience shared with a good friend. Everything was thoughtfully prepared and the atmosphere was peaceful and calming. Being self guided made the experience intimate and personal. Certainly would do this again!
This was a truly special and refreshing experience. What stood out most was the quiet intimacy and authenticity woven into every moment. Unlike more structured, group-led ceremonies, the self-guided approach created a sense of freedom and personal connection that felt natural and unforced. The use of Guatemalan ceremonial cacao added a meaningful cultural depth, and it was clear that great care was taken to honor its origins and heart-centered tradition. Each element—from the gentle sage cleansing to the intention-setting, ritual release, and closing with gratitude—was thoughtfully simple, allowing space for genuine reflection without feeling overwhelming or prescriptive. Overall, it felt grounded, sincere, and deeply memorable. The experience struck a beautiful balance between sacred and approachable, and its impact lingered long after it ended. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a more personal and meaningful moment of connection.
This event is great I didnt notice how rhe cacao is transformed in a delicius choclate that We all knob and enjoy. I strongly recomend this tour.
It is a super cute experience, the attention and service they give makes you feel super good! Really if you go do not hesitate to live this moment!
The highlight of my time in Antigua! El Alquimista has created a truly intentional, beautiful self-guided ritual. It’s the perfect way to connect with Mayan tradition at your own pace. The cacao was rich, the atmosphere was serene, and I left feeling completely grounded. A must-do! - Att. Mito
A wonderful experience that goes beyond the ordinary and becomes a lifelong memory. I definitely recommend it alongwith the incredibly original menu and cocktails they offer at the place.
Lovely and soothing. Really enjoyed it and would recommend.
