We had one day in Rome and wanted to see the classic sights together, so we decided to spend our shore time exploring the city rather than staying close to the port. It ended up being a really enjoyable day. The Colosseum was amazing, but some of my favorite moments were actually the smaller ones—walking through the streets, stopping near the Pantheon, seeing the Trevi Fountain, and simply taking in the atmosphere around St. Peter’s Square. Because we were on a cruise, our biggest concern was always the return time. Having pickup and drop-off arranged at the ship made the experience much more relaxing. We weren't constantly checking transportation options or wondering how long it would take to get back. It was definitely a full day and we were ready for a quiet evening afterward, but it was worth it. Rome has so much history packed into a relatively small area that every stop felt like another little piece of the city.

Everyone in our group enjoyed it, and we all agreed it was one of the most memorable days of the trip.

Knowing that the return to the port was planned around the cruise schedule made the day much more relaxing. A good option for couples who want to see Rome without trying to organize everything independently.

At the same time, having leisure time meant we could slow down and enjoy the experience as a couple. We also felt reassured by the planned return to the port. The schedule gave us confidence that we weren't simply being left to arrange our own way back. It was a long day, but it never felt unnecessarily complicated.

Our guide Gabriella was wonderful he explained everything very well and took us to great spots and our bus driver was very nice too.
