My mother and I enjoyed this tour! Maria-Luisa was so full of knowledge and her knowledge of archaeology was so helpful during the tour. We really enjoyed her explanations and it made the tour so much more insightful.

When we arrived at the arena floor, he said just look around and take all the pictures you want. I will be in the tunnel if you want to know something. I would have liked more explanation about the arena floor. He was in such a rush, hard to keep up with him, and trying to follow was difficult because you could not always see his flag up. Showed pictures after we had seen everything. They should have been shown as we went along with the tour. Not impressed with the tour guide.

The pick up point was easy to find and the guide was conscious of the heat booked 1030am. We left half way found the pace to slow and very repetitive. Overall nice people.

This is a review of the Semi Private with Arena - 1.5h tour. I was under the impression that the majority of this tour would be spent at the Colosseum, but we only were able to spend about 25 minutes in the Colosseum - which included both history time with the guide and time taking photos. Then, the guide rushed us out of the Colosseum and the rest of the time was spent at the Roman Forum & Palatine Hill. When I questioned why we were led out so quickly, she said this was an express tour and we could not stay any longer. But the Viator listing clearly states that the experience is 1.5 hrs and that the Roman Forum & Palatine Hill would be explored at our own pace. This makes it seem like the time at the Colosseum is 1.5 hrs, since the remaining experience is on your own time. Even if it cannot be the full 1.5 hours at the Colosseum, the less than half hour that we were given feels unacceptable. When I reached out to sales reps to confirm the timeframe of the 1.5hr Semi Private with Arena tour - I got three responses from three different individuals that gave me an itinerary where 1.5 hrs was spent at the Colosseum. I think if their own sales reps are confused, then it's clear that the Viator listing is misleading and the experience is misrepresented. The amount of money we paid for this tour and the little amount of time spent at the Colosseum - which is obviously the main purpose of this experience - was laughable and disappointing. I've done a normal Colosseum tour and would definitely recommend that over this pitiful Arena tour. Save your money and don't go with City Wonders for the Arena tour.

Silvia was our guide today. I've done a lot of tours and she is hands down the best tour foide I've ever experienced! Silvia's knowledge of not only the colosseum, but how life was during the time and her ability to tie the past into the present, providing us with not.onlyna great tour, but an educational experience as well, was unfounded in any tour I've been to.

Our tour with Luca as our guide was amazing, he was engaging, funny, gorgeous and made our experience memorable. He was so knowledgeable and had lots of fun facts to share with the group!! We love u

Had the best experience in the Colosseum. Booked the full experience with the arena tour & wow!!!!! To stand & look up at what a gladiator would’ve seen was breathtaking! As a lover of history, to be in one of the seven wonders of the world & experience a piece of history was out of this world! My girlfriend was in awe & both of us had an emotional moment due to his magnificence!

This was a disappointing tour on a few levels. First, the meeting place staff was not friendly. My family did three City Wonders tours in Rome and the same young age group of staff organized us (Pompeii and the Vatican). They were not friendly or approachable. Then when we got into our group each time someone was missing/ late so our group had to wait for the people to show up. Luckily once the start time passed we got to begin the tour even if the missing participants didn’t show up. Our tour guide for the coliseum was great. You could understand him and he was very knowledgeable—however—City Wonders grouped way too many people in each tour group and even with the vox boxes, it was chaotic. After we moved in from the Colosseum towards Pallatino Hill, we stopped for the bathroom and a fountain break. There were too many people who couldn’t find the tour guide. We waited twenty minutes and then the tour guide showed up and said he had people left behind in the colosseum that we had to wait for. My family and I finally gave up and turned in our vox box and left. The temperature was around 100 degrees that day and after the colosseum the guide said the tour could leave if they wanted to. I’ve never been in a tour when the guide actively said you could all leave. Shame on City Wonders for over packing the number in the tours. I also did the Vatican and there were 16 in that group/-which I thought was way too many for the size crowd touring the Vatican that morning. The colosseum had over twenty people in our tour and it was unmanageable. Had it been smaller sized, we wouldn’t have lost time or the guide and I would have been able to see the entire tour. Disappointing to say the least.
