We booked what’s basically a driver and car to take us to Zipaquira because finding a ride back to Bogota may have been difficult. Our driver didn’t speak English and we speak no Spanish. Was it worth it? Probably. Met expectations. Nothing unusual nor special which is why I give it four stars. The Salt Cathedral itself is very unique and worth the long ride there, at least to us.

Javier was a wonderful driver and guide. He made me feel comfortable and safe with my limited speaking of Espana.

Very good experience from start to finish! The agency had excellent communication and contacted us ahead of time with all the details. They also sent us a link to purchase the tickets, which were not included in the tour price. The pickup was right on time. Our guide, David, and our driver, Steven, were both very knowledgeable, professional, and polite. Thanks to their organization, we arrived at Zipaquirá earlier than most visitors, which allowed us to enjoy the Salt Cathedral with fewer crowds. We truly enjoyed David’s explanations and the way he shared the history and details of the cathedral. He patiently answered all our questions, waited for us while we took pictures, and even helped take some great photos of us in the best spots. The Salt Cathedral itself was amazing, and the timing of our visit made the experience even better since it was not too crowded. After the cathedral, we walked to a restaurant for lunch. We enjoyed trying some of the meat before sitting down which was very tasty. The ajíaco soup before the main meal was excellent, and we also loved the lemonade. Unfortunately, the meat served on our plates was not as good as we had hoped. However, overall, it was still a very enjoyable meal. Wish we could have walked and seen the town a bit more. We had a wonderful day and highly recommend this private experience. Special thanks and kudos to David!
