Our tour guide, Aidan, was fantastic. He was knowledgeable about the mystery series and also provided plenty of local color about the countryside and the buildings used in the series. Good driver and flexible when we wanted to take photos. Great brunch at Beekeepers Wife along the way.

Such a terrific experience to enjoy a private scenic drive with Jason from Auckland to Hobbiton and on to glow worm caves! He made the drive so relaxing—chatting when there was information about our scenery or sights, but allowed us to enjoy with quiet music in the background during the drive. Perfect! He was always identifying the best photo ops and helped to catch the moment. Great lunch at local cafe on the way to caves. He was the ONLY guide at the end of the boat ride to catch a photo of us (no photos allowed in caves). This was once in a lifetime journey to see the NZ countryside, the set of my favorite movies, and the wild glowy caves! Jason made it a 5 star experience!

Okay hands down such a fantastic experience — worth every penny to make it private. My husband and I are huge fans and wanted to be up close and personal. We were paired with personal driver Mike, so kind, thoughtful, and an easy driver to/from Matamata. Then we were paired for the private tour with Hayden who works at Hobbiton. This guy was a TREASURE. We had a blast and left floating on a fantasy cloud! He knew so much, had cool personal details and stories, and was clearly a MEGA fan!! Simply magical, and thanks to Auckland and Beyond Tours, they handled every detail for us. Don’t hesitate — buy this!

This was the most amazing experience in my life. Our tour guide was Raymond and he was unbelievably amazing. We spoke a lot about history, culture and general life in New Zealand. I love the fact that he was so knowledgeable and he didn’t just give me the classic tour info, but he tried to help me and answer all my questions, the day was amazing we visit not only the Hobbiton movie Set but also Waitomo cave. Had lunch together, everything was perfectly organized and confirtable. I can’t wait for my next time in New Zeland

We had a one day layover in New Zealand and we chose this private excursion. John was our guide and he provided us with water and snacks and pointed out areas of interest during the drive to the Hobbiton movie set. We were glad that we booked a private tour as we had our Hobbiton guide all to ourselves and we were far away from the large crowds of people on the group tour! We tried the cider beer at the Dragon's Inn and it was fantastic!!! Great day all around especially if you are a Hobbit fan!!!

It was my first trip in my life in New Zealand, best trip that the guide, named Chris, assisted well enough for each of travellers. He cared of individual's time, safe drive and free snack and beverages were given. Thank you Chirs, hope you have best days!!!

Boshra was our tour guide for the day he picked us up from the hotel and drove us to the Hobbiton. His service was lovely I would give him 5 star. Took good care of us along the way until we got back to the hotel. Recommend him for touring around and I'll def choose the Auckland & Beyond again next time thanks to the gentlemen.
