The entire experience with Japan Awaits was extremely organized and professional. Absolutely zero hiccups along the way. Although the tour guide, Takeshi, was essentially just a chaperone (little to no explanation of the sites seen), he and the driver were very cordial and accommodating. We would absolutely book them again for another tour. Thank you for the great memories.
We had an amazing all day tour of Kyoto with Kaz. He was so knowledgeable in his explanation of all the beautiful places we visited. I would highly recommend him!!
We had a wonderful full day tour with Yuka, she was amazing! She made sure the tour was what we wanted to see and that all our needs and requests were met. She is a wonderful tour guide!
Tak was a wonderful guide. He was able to fit in many things, while still going our pace and accomodating a lunch change request. And we asked to poor man to walk to the top of the monkey park! Thank you for a day full of memories@
My Kyoto trip with Japan Awaits wasn't just sightseeing, it was like an amazing personal adventure! Forget cookie-cutter tours, these guys built an 8-hour journey around my interests, from famous temples to hidden gems . My guide, a total local storytelling, brought history to life with stories that made every stop feel like a portal to Kyoto's soul. If you want a trip that's more than just ticking boxes, and one you'll remember long after the last souvenir is in the closet, Japan Awaits is the way to go. Trust me, don't settle for less!
Our guide Atsuko Kitani was a wonder. She even scouted the location of our machiya days before our arrival to assure our meeting would be smooth. At the outset there was some confusion about our itinerary, but without skipping a beat Atsuko cheerfully juggled the schedule she had so carefully prepared and we were able to visit all the sites we had requested -- and then some! Our walk along the Philosopher's Path (with an unexpected riverside shopping experience) was a highlight of the day. Atsuko was loads of fun and VERY generous with her time and knowledge of Kyoto. We loved seeing the city through her eyes.
I would highly recommend Japan Awaits for anyone looking to explore Kyoto. Their commitment to delivering a memorable and immersive experience is evident in every aspect of the tour. I'm grateful for the wonderful memories created during this tour and can't wait to explore more of Japan with Japan Awaits in the future.
Had a fantastic day in Kyoto with Takama-san as our tour guide. He was punctual and showed us around with great enthusiasm. I loved the way he explained everything to us that everything had a long history story behind it.
My Wife unfortunately has a health condition flare up making her unable to walk much. The tour guide was very kind, helpful and accommodating.
