Best experience ever! Antonio started by asking about my level, and what was important to me. It was most certainly a hike, rugged and uphill. He is very knowledgable about the plant life, the flowers, the history. Very enjoyable, happy to have had this experiende
This tour teaches you more about Sintra than visiting the sites located there. Guides are well-studied locals that know what's important and what's not. You'll see a lot of sites other tours miss. If you're looking to go to sites just for the views, this tour is better than doing the official sites by themselves.
Francisco our guide to a great job leading us on a hike up to the Moorish castle , stopping at many viewpoints and giving us great history of Sintra and the Penna Palace. We ended the hike in the city center and he pointed out places for lunch and stores to shop in. I would recommend this tour for those who want to se the sights by foot instead of by riding in a vehicle.
I had the best day in Sintra with Francisco! I ended up having a private tour and it was so special. Francisco was incredibly knowledgeable! He grew up in the area so he shared lots of stories about how things were going up there in addition to the history of all the sites we visited. He was so kind and accommodating and came prepared with extra umbrellas and jackets if needed. We started off grabbing coffee at a local snack bar to get acquainted and to learn about the plan for the day and then we were on our way! I highly recommend booking a hike with Francisco!
Wonderful guided hike in Sintra! Trail and viewpoints were beautiful! Nice hike upwards for front half and then it's downhill for back half. Our guide Antonio was lovely. He shared his knowledge and insights along the trail and at various viewing points. He's a delightful young man that's fun to be around and has expert knowledge of the trails.
Antonio was great for finding off the beaten path trails and knowledge. Very friendly and accomodating to skill level and comfort.
Our group of 6 had the most amazing time hiking around Sintra with Samuel. He grew up in Sintra and had all kinds of great tidbits of info as we hiked up to the Moorish castle, Peña Palace other sights It was far better on foot to really see the sights and learn from him. We ended the morning tour at a pastry shop, had some amazing snacks and then he called Diogo his partner and they took us on our unscheduled and unbooked car tour of the coast, the western point of Europe and most amazingly, an impromptu lunch at a very authentic super local bar where Diogo (a trained archaeologist) expounded on the history of Portugal, The Templars and so much more! It was by far my most favorite day of our entire trip! Do not miss these guys- they were personable, knowledgeable, easy going and so wonderful!!!

What an awesome way to see incredible Sintra! The hikes in between palaces were beautiful. We spent time being guided by both Samuel and Diogo. Their knowledge of the area and Portugal’s history was amazing. I would happily take the same tour again the next time I’m in Portugal.

It was a beautiful tour immersed in nature with a very nice open car the guy was very good the tour starts from the lower part of the mountain making stops between castles where he explains the history also with photographs the price in my opinion was right for 4 people €70
