Federico is absolutely amazing! Such a sweet, patient person with vast knowledge about jewelry and generosity about teaching. (His jewelry pieces are also exquisite.) Cuttlefish casting is a unique experience and it was totally new to me. It's not something you have the opportunity to do every day, which is why I was eager to try it. I wound up really enjoying it and learning a lot! I loved working with Federico, and I adore the pendant I made.

Definitely the highlight and lasting memory of our Italian holiday. My brother and I so enjoyed learning this ancient craft which we never heard of before. He was knowledgeable and patient and shared many tales about his life and the city he loves. What an afternoon!

Frederico is an absolute sweetheart with lots to share about his life and the city. He's also a very patient and effective teacher. And I would give him 5 stars just for all that. But I would give him a sixth star if I could because he also cared a lot about making sure we both got to make rings even after our first attempts catastrophically failed during casting. I would absolutely take other classes taught by Frederico if for no other reason than to spend time with him.

Beautiful experience, given to my partner. Federico was immediately friendly and welcoming, putting us at ease. He was very good at explaining the technique and guiding us through the various phases, letting us try (and even fail), with patience and great suggestions to get the best possible result. The goal is not to buy a jewel, but to create it with his own hands: thanks to his experience and professionalism we were able to make a beautiful ring, with Federico always present but without replacing us in the main steps. During the forging we also had a small incident — a normal thing in craft work — and he was kind and helpful in finding a solution that would allow us to save the piece and maintain its uniqueness. I recommend this experience to those who want not only to give a jewel, but also the opportunity to create a memory related to its realization.

A truly special and memorable experience that perfectly captured Florence culture! Federico is not only an amazing artist himself, but a great teacher (not all artists can teach well, but he was patient, clear, and encouraging). The timing of the jewelry class was perfect - 3 or so hours to work on your piece and then time to discuss art, Florence, and whatever else that came up over a drink at a near by cafe. It’s great that he allows you some independence in choosing and creating your design. I now have one of the best memories and souvenirs of my time in Florence. So very grateful for the opportunity.

I had a wonderful experience with Federico in his Lab/Workshop. He is a truly skilled artisan, and an excellent teacher. I found it fascinating to design and carve cuttlefish bone into the mould for my pendant. It’s a very old, and very unusual technology, which uses the texture of the bone to add detail in the piece. Federico takes the time to teach and guide, and makes sure you end up with an amazing, and completely unique piece of jewelry. This workshop is excellent, and a highlight of my travels in Italy. If you are looking at it, do it—it is absolutely worth it! I’ll be back! :)

Highly recommend this experience. Federico is an extremely genuine, kind, supportive and talented teacher! Instruction was incredible and I felt encouraged to be creative and try new skills. The results are fantastic and to be able to come home with a piece of beautiful jewelry that I made with Federico’s instruction is priceless! Again, I highly recommend this experience. It is doable no matter what your skill level.
