The experience was terrific and full of beautiful moments :) the cloudy skies were perfect and Preston did a wonderful job telling our group about the history of Hawaii, gave us chances to see beautiful landscapes of the Maui island :) I would recommend doing this tour over any other tour , 11/10 and totally worth waking up at 1:30 am :)
We never got picked up from our hotel. Called twice and the lady said she couldn’t get ahold of our driver. Totally missed out on the tour bc we didn’t get picked up. Expect a full refund!
Our tour guide Preston was fantastic! The views are unbelievable and the sunrise is spectacular. You get a detailed account about the island on your way down. Well worth getting up early for. I would recommend bringing multiple layers as it gets cold and breezy at the top. It was very chilly up there while being very warm at the bottom. You can leave stuff on the bus when you get off the peak locked safely. The restaurant after is very accommodating to allergies!
We had an absolutely incredible experience on our Haleakalā sunrise tour! This was easily one of the highlights of our entire trip to Maui and something we’ll remember for a long time. A huge part of what made the experience so great was our driver and guide, Preston. He was fantastic from start to finish—friendly, knowledgeable, funny, and genuinely passionate about Maui and Haleakalā. He made the early morning drive enjoyable, shared so much interesting information along the way, and made sure everyone was comfortable and had the best possible experience. Watching the sunrise from the top of Haleakalā was breathtaking and absolutely worth the early wake-up, but having Preston as our guide really took the experience to another level. You can tell he truly cares about what he does and about the people on his tour. If you’re considering a Haleakalā sunrise tour, DO IT—and if you’re lucky enough to get Preston as your driver and guide, you’re in for an amazing experience. Cannot recommend him or this tour highly enough. 10/10!
This experience was AMAZING! Preston was our tour guide. He was born for this job! His knowledge, calm vibe, and respectful humor made this trip so enjoyable. We are on our honeymoon and this made it so much better!

Such an amazing experience and really loved our tour guide. I wish I could remember his name. I know he grew up in Australia. Just a funny genuine dude. The tour was absolutely worth every bit of what we paid for it.
We went on 8/7/2026 and the weather was perfect at 55 degrees! Preston, our tour guide, was amazing!!! He really loves his job and loves telling the history of the island and the volcano. I wore a beenie, gloves, sweats, socks and Uggz boots. Tennis shoes would have been ok as well. The views, the guide and breakfast afterwards were all amazing and worth every penny !!
