What an absolutely phenomenal day from start to finish! Our private guide, Bima, simply could not have been better. Friendly, professional and incredibly knowledgeable, he brought the history of Yogyakarta and Indonesia to life throughout the journey and was fantastic while guiding us around both Borobudur and Prambanan temples.
Bima’s hospitality was exceptional, with great advice throughout the day and even a stop at a luwak coffee plantation, which was a fascinating once-in-a-lifetime experience. Nothing ever felt rushed and the whole tour felt completely personal.
We finished the evening with the Ramayana Ballet at Prambanan before Bima dropped us safely back at our hotel after a very long day.
A truly memorable experience and one of the highlights of our time in Indonesia. If you can request Bima as your guide, do it – he was outstanding!

Fantastic Day with an Excellent Guide!
We had a fantastic day visiting Borobudur, Prambanan, and the Ramayana Ballet, and Dani made the entire experience incredibly smooth and enjoyable. He arrived early, was always ready to pick us up as soon as we finished each activity, and made navigating what can sometimes feel quite busy and chaotic completely effortless. He always explained exactly where we needed to go and took care of all the logistics.
Dani was also incredibly knowledgeable. On the drives between places and on the locations, he shared so much about Indonesian history and culture, particularly the Hindu and Buddhist temples, and was able to answer every question we had (and tell us plenty we wouldn’t have known to ask!). Since we had some extra time, he even took us to another temple, as well as a great place for lunch, dinner, and a stop to try the local Luwak coffee.
Dani was polite, thoughtful, knowledgeable, and genuinely went above and beyond throughout the entire day. We couldn’t have asked for a better driver and guide. Highly recommend!

Everything perfect
Everything was perfect from start to finish. The service was extremely comfortable and thoughtful, and he made sure we had the easiest possible experience throughout the day, taking us right to the entrances, having water available, and arranging the tickets for us.
He was also genuinely friendly, engaging and very knowledgeable about local history, culture and all the little curiosities we asked about.
Highly recommended - professional, kind and a real pleasure to spend the day with!

Wonderful day in Yogyakarta
Excellent experience in the company of Maxi, who exceeded our expectations to ensure our magnificent start to our stay in Indonesia.
He is a remarkable guide, absolutely kind, who went out of his way to help us and find us great restaurants nearby.
We recommend him 200% for this tour for his explanations and his good humor throughout the day. Thanks again Maxi 🙏

Visit to the Borobudur and Prambanan temples
Very beautiful day, the visit to the 2 temples is done very well in one day. The evening show closes this beautiful day with a view of the Prambanan temple in the background. Awesome.
The organization was top-notch. Picked up at the hotel at 8 a.m. as planned. Our driver Aris was very friendly, gave us good advice, and accompanied us during this day with kindness, top-notch!

Great experience with Sarj Izzarti.
I had an excellent day with Sarj. The day was well organised, informative and interesting. Sarj was very good company, generous and helped me with my bahasa. I would highly recommend him as a guide and would tour with him again. The sites were stunning. Sharon Hill. 👌

An Unforgettable Day with Maxi – Highly Recommended!
We had an absolutely amazing day visiting Borobudur, Prambanan, and the Ramayana Ballet with Maxi as our guide. He was exceptional from start to finish—friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and passionate about sharing the history and culture of Yogyakarta.
Maxi made the entire day smooth and stress-free, explaining everything in an engaging way and always making sure we were comfortable. He truly went above and beyond by arranging VIP tickets for the Ramayana Ballet, which made the evening unforgettable and gave us the best possible experience.
Everything was perfectly organized, and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide.
We highly recommend Maxi to anyone visiting Yogyakarta.
Thank you for making our trip so special—we will always remember this wonderful day!

Amazing sights and wonderful guide!
This tour was exceptional and the guide (Bima) was phenomenal. Not only were the main sights (Borobudur and Prambanan) very impressive, the information that Bima shared really enriched the experience, and he was very pleasant to share a day with. His driving was very good, and after adding an interesting church visit in between the two main sites, he took us to a local bakery to sample amazing treats (and he made sure that our allergies were accommodated). The sunset at one of the temples near Prambanan, followed by a nice dinner and entertaining ballet, were the icing on the cake. We cannot recommend this tour highly enough, for the incredible sites but also thanks to the expertise and care of the guide!

A truly immersive Prambanan experience
The Prambanan Ramayana Ballet was an exceptionally holistic and unforgettable experience. I highly recommend Pak Matthias as a tour guide—his deep historical and local knowledge, flexibility, warm hospitality, and ability to make you feel completely at ease truly enhanced the journey.
The dining spot was thoughtfully chosen, the sunset tour was serene and expansive, and the ballet itself was a magical, fully immersive performance.
If you want to connect with the ancient culture of East Java in a meaningful way, this experience is an absolute must.

Cultural highlight; philosophical guide!!
Our guide Dani is really amazing. He is very warm and friendly and he is very knowledgeable in the history of different religions in this region. His explanation makes us appreciate the existence of the largest Buddhist temple Borobudur and the magnificent Prambanan Hindu temple in a predominantly Muslim country Indonesia. For those who like cultural things and value religious harmony in a volatile and crazy world of today, this trip will help you put many things in perspective. Highly recommended.
