This is basically a guided tour for about an hr and a half with a knowledgeable zookeeper that you can ask any questions about the animals to. The main event is obviously being able to see the koalas super close and personal. Without this experience, you can only see the koalas outside of the double gate they have around the enclosure. We were allowed inside and within (no touching allowed, of course) touching distance of the koalas. The ones we were able to see that day actually had a baby with them too so that was a nice treat! After the tour is done, you can roam the rest of the zoo at your own leisure, but just for the koala experience alone, I would say this is worth it. I learned lots of interesting information as well like how a kangaroo can pause their pregnancy. Wish humans had that ability, lol. We also got to see an emu take a rather large dump as well so that was also a side bonus lol.

Was a beautiful zoo, with a kool back drop of the sydney skyline... what i was most thrilled about (besides the animals being well cared for) , all though I was the only one that was on the tour it still continued (so I got a private tour :) ) I had experienced in my travells while in austrillia if they don't have enough enrollment they cancel tours... so i was really happy that it was a go. A very nice day.

The best adventure for fans of Taronga Zoo. Laura was our guide. She was so informative and patient with all of our questions. A must for those who want to venture behind the scenes.

Our travel agent booked this for us and it was great to get an inside look at the zoo. We were able to get up close to the koalas and the Bilbies. The guide was brilliant and enhanced our visit. I’m not a massive fan of zoos but found this zoo well organised and planned for visitors. There is a great selection and they have thought about enrichment for the animals. We did not want to take the bus to the main entrance at the top and were advised not to walk as it was ‘dangerous’. However there were lots of joggers etc using the road so it was absolutely fine.

Gorgeous property and views and great tour guide who is an animal keeper who provided us a great education and an awesome awesome experience
