The zoo itself is beautiful, and it’s lovely to see it constantly developing. The volunteers are fantastic and always so helpful. But the food situation… oh boy. 😂 On a busy Sunday, we were basically fighting for our lives over burgers, while simultaneously trying to carry said burgers, drinks and children with absolutely no trays in sight. For such a beautiful, world class attraction, the food feels like a bit of an afterthought. But yes, we still love Taronga. We’ll be back. Just possibly after eating lunch somewhere else first. 😂

The pits, walked in at the bottom end & hardly any animals to be seen. Exhibits & enclosures look tired, animals look bored, saw a bird walking around. Big whoop. Walked back out after 45 minutes. Ferry ride over was the highlight

What an incredible day at the zoo! Taronga is a must visit when you’re in Sydney. All of the animals were so happy, and every guide we met was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable! Definitely a highlight of our time in Sydney!!

Booked a family ticket to Taronga Zoo direct with the organisation. Paying online took a while as payment protections between my cards & zoo didn’t work. Centrally funded, Taronga is very cheap for what it is. It should be the number 1 choice for any animal lovers visiting Sydney. Views are amazing as it overlooks harbour - bridge & opera house.

kangroos and ostridges were running around feeding not allowed but can touch lions were awsome when they roar in the morning u can here them in sydney 8km distance birds are so unique in australia bird show was great too and sea lion show was awsome

Per their website, “Opened on October 7, 1916, Taronga Zoo houses over 4,000 animals across 350 species, focusing on native Australian wildlife and global conservation. It is open daily from 9:30 AM.” I'm still raving about this experience because I've never been to a zoo quite like this!  It started out with a beautiful ferry ride from Circular Quay and directly after buying tickets, we came super close to a sea lion! This closeness ended up becoming the “theme” of the park, in which we spent a full day interacting with animals in open enclosures or at least getting much closer to them than you would in the U.S.   TIP #1: Eat at “Views” for lunch - it has spectacular views of Sydney, from across the water. TIP #2: For an even MORE AMAZING time, consider booking a night at the Wildlife Retreat at Taronga!

Really great zoo. Awesome selection of interesting animals well kept enclosures really pleasant to walk around one of the most interesting zoo I’ve been to.

Amazing zoo! We went in August. The weather was perfect - not too cold and wet with sun and a slight breeze. All the animals were out and sun bathing. Don't miss the Aviary and seal shows. Get there at the opening if you want to secure the popular animal experiences. We enjoyed the giraffe and dingo experience. Also wear walking shoes and have fun.

DO NOT BOOK THROUGH THIS COMPANY ITS IN AMERICA DOLLARS NOT AUSTRALIAN NO WHERE DOES IT SAY THIS I TRIED TO GET JUST PARTIAL REFUND AND NO ONE WOULD HELP ME. WHAT A CON OF A COMPANY. Zoo was good as always.

To gain the most out of this visit I would allow at least 6 hours. There is lots to see while there.
