Definitely worth it!! You see all the hotspots and drive along roads you would skip on foot 🫣 We had Daniel as a guide, fine driver who effortlessly steers through the impassable. Daniel knows a lot about Madeira in general and sometimes stops at points to tell that extra. All in all top day!!! Daniel thank you 💪🏼
We had an amazing day exploring the west side of Madeira with Discovery Island Madeira. The itinerary included some of the island's most iconic places, such as Ponta do Sol, Ribeira Brava, Fanal Forest, Porto Moniz, Seixal and Cabo Girão. We were incredibly lucky with the weather: bright sunshine along the south coast and a thick mist covering Fanal Forest, creating the magical and mystical atmosphere that makes this place so special. What truly made the experience exceptional, however, was our guide and driver, Jesus. From the very beginning, he made us feel completely safe and comfortable on the winding mountain roads. His driving skills were outstanding, allowing us to relax and enjoy the spectacular scenery throughout the day. Beyond that, Jesus shared a wealth of interesting information, local history, and fascinating anecdotes about Madeira. His passion for the island was evident, and his friendly personality made the tour both informative and enjoyable. If you're looking for a memorable way to discover Madeira, I highly recommend Discovery Island Madeira—and if you have the chance to tour with Jesus, you're in for a fantastic experience.

We had a wonderful safari tour. The day was spent in best way possible to get to know Madeira. We experienced the island from different sides and roads, and saw the most amazing spots. Our driver/guide Jesus was very chill, easy to talk to and informative. He explained places we encountered and told interesting facts about the island.

We booked a 4x4 tour with Discovery Island Tours, having seen a row of their Landrovers parked up professionally by Funchal Marina. The tour was lead by an Italian driver (Julia?) who turned up on time and was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Julia’s driving was excellent and exciting, both on road and off road. The price of the tour was average. We went as a couple and the rest of the tour party was made up by a family and a lady with her son. The whole group gelled well together and the children particularly enjoyed riding in the rear of the Defender, on the inward facing bench seats.

One of the of the best cruise tours I've ever taken. Daniel was extremely knowledgeable, and answered all our questions thoroughly. He also gave us very interesting facts about the island. From the ship, he immediately took us up into the mountains. On narrow roads and rough terrain. That was a great ride. We stopped at very scenic locations, and were given plenty of time to take pictures and look around. Lunch was in an excellent restaurant. The food was varied and delicious. Service was outstanding. A very good experience all around. 6 stars!
