The tour was brilliantly led by Daniel who is really knowledgable about so many aspects of Madeira’s culture, history and geography. The tour itself was really beautiful and picturesque but Daniel’s commentary and additions really made it. What a great way to see a bit more of the “real” Madeira - would really recommend this tour.

Absolutely great experience, this tour shows you some amazing views and how beautiful the island is. Definitely a place to return to for a holiday after visiting from a cruise ship.
Via Costa Cruises we booked the 4x4 ride trough nature of Madeira. When we docked in Funchal a week ago, a group of good looking, tough Land Rovers of Discovery Island Madeira was waiting for us down by the ship. Me and my 3 friends were lucky to have Jesus as our driver, also guide. Madeira is his island of birth so he knows so much about it’s nature and culture, it’s past and present. He is a really good, experienced driver, has a lot of humor and a nice vibe. He made our day. During the drive we made several stops. Among others at a fishing village, a spot with a good view over a beautiful, sooting valley and a local bar to drink the traditional cocktail of Madeira, “poncha” We had such a good time and a very nice impression of Madeira. We highly recommend this 4x4 ride.
Daniel was a brilliant guide and careful driver. Ha navigated the tour busses to find us suitable parking spots for great photos and answered all our questions. We all thoroughly enjoyed the day.
Daniel was our driver, knowledgeable, skilled driver which we definitely recommend. Incredibly great island, steep everywhere and exciting trips with Jeep. The desired highlight of the tour was this Jeep safari.
We spent half a day in Madeira on a 4x4 jeep tour, from the cruise ship port. We were collect from right outside the ship and set off on our tour straight away. We shared the jeep with one couple, so a total of 5 adults, plenty of space. Jesus, was our driver and tour guide - he was AMAZING. His knowledge of the tour and general humour was brilliant. We made five stops on this tour, with plenty of time at each. We stopped at a local fishing village; very picturesque, the Nuns Valley; what a photo opportunity, a view point of the city and a drinks stop; very reasonably priced! We would highly recommend booking with this company.
We stayed one week with Vitus travel. The Jeep Safari was the best experience during the whole week. Mostly because we got Jesus as our driver. He made the day.
The half-day jeep tour with Discovery Island was absolutely worth it. The guide Daniel was one of the best we could ever experience worldwide - good mood, communicative and very well informed.
Our driver Jesus was fab! Gave lots of info and extremely attentive to all. I certainly hope we have him as the driver on another tour in the future! The route was ideal. Seeing areas we would not have seen on a mini bus! Good variety of terrain -LOVED this tour.
