The audio was very good and very comprehensive. The information and meeting point were clear and everything went very smoothly. Good value for money and a definite must if you’re visiting Rome.

Great visit to the colosseum and Roman forum
We originally booked onto the guided tour but unfortunately the time slot was adjusted a week before and therefore we couldn’t attend anymore. As it was only a week before we travelled there was limited options left so we had to go with the audio guide tour. It’s done using an app on your phone and you have to find the correct number to play the correct part which was a bit tricky to do on your own. I wish we could have done the guided tour as I think it would have been so much better to have been told about everything that happened by a real person. I think it wasn’t as good as it could have been just having the pre recorded audio guide. We had tickets to the arena too but honestly it wasn’t necessary as I think the view from the upper floor was just as good if not better than the arena. Definitely worth a visit though. Also the Roman forum is amazing. We didn’t realize quite how much there was to see and how big it all was. We went 1.5 hours before our colosseum timed entry but didn’t have nearly enough time, easily could have spent 3 hours there casually walking and taking it all in. That was just as impressive in my opinion.

Colosseum chaos entry
Instructions were lacking on meeting the tour rep as I already had the tickets! Then entry to the colosseum requires photo I.D. Again not explained. But once we finally got in mind was blown!!!

Could be better, but was a good deal
My ticket said there wasn't a guide, which was fine. I was sent an audio file as a guide (by Rick Steves) which i thankfully listened to on ny way bc it didn't work in the site. Any time I opened my camera, it reset the audio file. There was also a booklet but that also wasn't the easiest to follow.
If i did the tour again, I would get an actual tour guide just to be able to dig deeper. But I still enjoyed myself so it wasn't a total loss.

Brilliant visit but know the facts first
There were six of us, but we decided to split up and meet later as it was easier. We bought the tickets in advance because the actual Colosseum booking site is a nightmare and there were never 6 tickets available. The ticket included the Colosseum, Palatine Hill & Forum.
We were told we had to meet someone at the top of the metro station; she simply told us to go over to the entrance tent and join the pre-booked queue (what a waste of time having to meet someone to state the obvious!) Anyway, the tickets said 3 pm on them, but apparently that's the time you join the queue in order to go in for the 3.15 pm slot. The tickets were for a pre-booked visit to the Colosseum and then are valid for 24 hours for the Palatine Hill and Forum.
The Colosseum is an amazing building; there is no doubt about that, and entrance was smooth and quick, but it was rammed, unpleasantly so.
After we left, we went to the Palatine Hill, which was brilliant; we wish that we had been told that we needed at least 3 - 4 hours to see it all plus the Forum. However, we were not, and so we decided that as we had a restaurant booked that evening, once we had seen most of the Palatine Hill we would leave and return the following morning to see the Forum; however, after getting to the front of the queue we were told that the ticket was for one entry only and we couldn't go in. Be warned, I never saw this on the ticket, but I agree it does make sense. Our son & his partner hadn't used their tickets, so we asked if we could use them and were told no as the tickets are allocated by name. If we hadn't asked and simply used them, we would have been allowed in; that's what honesty does for you.
This is still a brilliant set of sites to visit, but you need to know more facts before going so that you don't slip up as we did.

Absolutely worth seeing
Very interesting and worth seeing; with the audio guide, it was a bit confusing to navigate the individual points as it was very crowded.
It is better to book tickets in advance; we did that and got in without long wait times.

Overprieced tickets no entry to colosseum
We had a really bad experience. We we have been at the meeting point close to the colosseum in time. The guy from the company was delayed 15 minutes. He finally airdropped the tickets and we rushed to the entrance but were refused the entry. Afterwards we realized that the tickets were valid for entrance at 9.15. however, we received them at 9.45. we had to wait another 1,5 hours and buy new tickets to enter the colosseum. Our whole day was spoiled.

Your booking was for June 5, 2026. We sent you the tickets and detailed instructions via email on June 2, 2026 at 11:55 AM – three full days before your tour. This included the meeting time (9:15 AM) and the 20‑minute entry grace period.
Our staff arrives at the meeting point 15 minutes before the first booked time and stays until 15 minutes after. They were present on time. The claim that our representative was delayed by 15 minutes is not accurate based on our staff records and other guests’ check‑ins that same morning.
The Colosseum allows a maximum 20‑minute delay from your booked entry time. If you arrived after 9:35 AM, you would have been denied entry – regardless of when you received tickets. We strongly suspect you arrived after the grace period, not our staff being late.
You mentioned you received tickets at 9:45 AM via AirDrop. Even if that were true, you were already beyond the 20‑minute window. For future reference, we always recommend downloading tickets before arriving at the meeting point, as mobile data and AirDrop can fail.
Important: Your tickets remained valid for the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill even if you missed the Colosseum entry window. You could have visited those sites, which are included in the price. You did not need to buy new tickets for everything.
We are sorry your day was spoiled, but the responsibility for arriving on time and checking your email before the tour date lies with the customer. We delivered your tickets in advance and provided clear instructions.

Make sure you have a ticket with Qr. Otherwise a hassle
Booking went well. But afterwards it turned out that I did not get a ticket but a voucher to redeem on arrival. That was a problem. Nowhere to be found was sent from one place to another. As a result, we have not been able to use the full booking. Because we had become too tired for that. The stop for colosseum much far. You arrive tired. Very unfortunate.

U dient deze voucher bij ons ontmoetingspunt te tonen, waarna wij u het echte toegangskaartje voor het Colosseum geven.
Ons ontmoetingspunt bevindt zich op ongeveer 100 meter van de ingang – dat is de dichtstbijzijnde toegestane locatie volgens de regels van het Colosseum. We begrijpen dat lopen in de hitte vermoeiend kan zijn, maar deze locatie is de kortst mogelijke afstand.

Overpriced and be aware of the 'Audio Tour'
Our ticket cost 71 euro (for 2 people) and was well over priced in my view, even though it covered the ancient sites like Palentine Hill and the Colosseum. If you buy a ticket on the day for the Colosseum, it is about 18 euro. We still had to queue even with a pre-booked ticket and the ticket only covers the lower level and second floor of the Colosseum. The tour was an 'audio tour'. Don't be fooled by this. What it means is you have to download the audio and listen to it via your mobile phone. And as we only took one phone with us that day, it was not that helpful. The meeting point we went to was signed 'Roma Tours'. We met a young man who rushed though where we need to go and how to down load the audio and access the site map - which was partly QR codes and partly PDF documents. So you are not in a group, you don't have supplied audio headphones, or with a guide of any sort. I am sure all this is explained in the paperwork, but I'd look for other options for these tours - but book early it is busy!

Many travelers pay for the convenience and peace of mind.
Queuing with a pre‑booked ticket – The queue you experienced was the mandatory security screening (metal detectors). This applies to every single visitor, regardless of ticket type. No tour operator can bypass security. We apologize for any confusion.
Lower level and second floor only – That is correct. The underground (hypogeum) and arena floor require a separate, more expensive, and very limited ticket. Our product clearly states what is included.
Audio tour requires your own phone – Yes, this is a self‑guided audio tour. The description clearly states that you download the app to your own smartphone. We do not supply headphones or a live guide. We are sorry if this was not your expectation, but it is accurately described before purchase.
Meeting point sign "Roma Tours" – We are not "Roma Tours." Our meeting point is clearly signed with our own company name. If you went to a different sign, you may have been at the wrong location. Our instructions (sent via email and WhatsApp) include photos of our exact meeting point.
Staff rushed – We apologize if our staff seemed rushed. The Colosseum has strict time windows, and our team works hard to get everyone through entry before their slot expires. We will remind our team to balance urgency with courtesy.
