We booked the private Premium Adventure from San Jose Arenal Volcano Waterfall and Thermal tour and we had a great experience. Our guide, Adrian, led us on an incredible tour. It turned out to be a rainy day but that did not put a damper on our adventure. On our way to the volcano we saw waterfalls and wildlife including coati, hummingbirds and toucans. We sampled local foods and even visited a coffee plantation. We spent time relaxing in the heated river as well as the heated pools of the resort. The cloudy skies obscured our view of the volcano at the overlook but we were lucky enough to get a view of the peak from the restaurant in Fortuna. Adrian is a fantastic guide. He was not only knowledgeable about Costa Rica but also friendly and fun to explore with.

Great Trip to Costa Rica thanks to Adrian!
We just returned from an incredible trip to Costa Rica, and I can’t say enough great things about our tour guide, Adrian. From start to finish, he did an outstanding job and made the entire experience truly unforgettable.
Our first stop near San Isidro was at a beautiful resort where we had an amazing time relaxing and taking in the surroundings. From there, Adrian guided us to Dominical and then up toward Manuel Antonio, where we spent three incredible nights. He took us to some amazing spots to see wildlife and made our visit to Manuel Antonio National Park a highlight of the trip.
We then continued on to Arenal, where the weather couldn’t have been better—we were lucky enough to get a perfect view of the volcano! One of our favorite experiences was the river boat tour Adrian took us on—it was incredible to see so many monkeys and wildlife up close.
We wrapped up our trip with our stay at the Peace Lodge, which was absolutely fantastic and the perfect ending to an already amazing journey.
Adrian went above and beyond every step of the way. His knowledge, professionalism, and passion for Costa Rica really made the trip special. Hands down, we highly recommend Adrian to anyone planning a trip—you won’t be disappointed!

Thank you for writing all of that, and thank you for the trip itself.
Designing nine days across Costa Rica for one family, three generations moving at three different paces with two little ones in the mix, is my favorite kind of work. No fixed schedule, no group, no protocol. Just a private road trip built around what you wanted each morning, with a Costa Rican who knows the country in the driver's seat.
We started in Pérez Zeledón, because the drive south over Cerro de la Muerte, the highest paved pass in Costa Rica, earns you a place to land and let the flight fade. Hacienda AltaGracia is its own world up there, eight hundred acres of mountain forest and coffee trails, and it puts Dominical comfortably within reach from the very first day.
From there we turned west to the Pacific, and Los Altos in Manuel Antonio gave you three nights instead of a rushed stop, which is the only way Manuel Antonio National Park deserves to be visited. Capuchins overhead, unhurried mornings, the children's first ocean afternoons.
North to the volcano after that. The safari float outside La Fortuna is always the one that surprises people, sloths and monkeys and birds close enough that the children stop asking how much longer. And The Springs gave you a clear view of Arenal, which no amount of planning can guarantee, so that one was yours to keep.
We closed at Peace Lodge in Vara Blanca, one last morning of toucans, sloths and hummingbirds before heading down toward San Jose. And then that final coffee at Hacienda Alsacia on the way to the airport, because there was still time and it seemed a shame to waste it.
In between all of it, the tables worth sitting at, the afternoons that turned into shopping, and the detours nobody planned. Choosing the right hotels and pacing the driving days is half the design. The other half is knowing when to disappear so the family can have its own moments.
Thank you for making me feel like one more of your beautiful family. Come back whenever you are ready and we will design the next route together.

Above and Beyond
Our family had the pleasure of spending several days with Adrian during our trip to Costa Rica, and I cannot recommend him highly enough.
From the moment we met him, Adrian was professional, punctual, knowledgeable, and incredibly kind. He went above and beyond to make sure our family was comfortable, safe, and able to enjoy everything Costa Rica has to offer. Traveling with children can sometimes be challenging, but Adrian was patient, accommodating, and always willing to adjust plans when needed.
What truly sets Adrian apart is his attitude. He is genuinely caring, thoughtful, and easy to be around. He quickly became someone our entire family looked forward to seeing each day. His knowledge of Costa Rica, its culture, wildlife, and hidden gems made our experience so much richer.
Adrian is bilingual, making communication effortless, and he consistently exceeded our expectations with his attention to detail and willingness to help. It is rare to meet someone who combines professionalism with such warmth and authenticity.
If you are visiting Costa Rica and need a guide or driver, do yourself a favor and book Adrian. He played a huge role in making our trip memorable, and we are incredibly grateful for everything he did for our family.
Thank you, Adrian, for helping create such wonderful memories.

Mafe, thank you. And thank you for the first message you ever sent me, because everything that followed came from there.
What I remember most is how quickly the days stopped feeling like a plan and started feeling like a family that happened to have me along. Traveling with three generations and two small children means the morning you designed is not always the morning that happens, and I would rather adjust than push. Your family made that easy.
Being from here and speaking both languages is only useful if it turns into something real, and with all of you it did. The stops that were not on any list, the wildlife the children spotted first, the questions your parents asked that led us somewhere I had not planned to go that day. Those are the parts of Costa Rica I most want travelers to leave with, and they only happen when a family is open to them.
Thank you for trusting me with those nine days, from the highlands down to the coast and up to Arenal. I am still grateful you let me in.
Come back whenever you are ready. The next route is already forming in my head.

Best Tour of Our Trip to Costa Rica
Best tour of our trip! We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Adrian. His communication before the tour was excellent. He reached out and we planned our day to Arenal together based on our preferences. He was flexible and changed things based on our needs. He picked us up in a comfortable and new vehicle. He is knowledgeable and personable. He showed us the best view of Arenal, took us to local hot springs and even found me a toucan! I would highly recommend him!

Laura, thank you. Planning the day together beforehand is the part most people skip, and it is exactly why your Arenal day looked different from the standard version of it. You told me what mattered to you and the route followed that, not the other way around.
The viewpoint we used is not the one the tour buses stop at, and the hot springs near La Fortuna are the local ones rather than just the resort version, which is the whole difference between seeing Arenal and spending a day with it.
And the toucan was luck. I knew we could see one there, and then everything aligned. Yours showed up.
Come back for the north or the Pacific whenever you are ready.

Best tour guide in Costa Rica
I had an amazing experience with Adrián and would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Costa Rica.
I’ll be honest—I was a little about booking a tour in Costa Rica since I’m Tico and was traveling with family friends who know the country well. I didn’t want something that felt overly touristy or like a copy-and-paste resort experience. But this ended up being the best “touristy” thing we did—and it didn’t feel touristy at all.
From start to finish, everything felt authentic and thoughtfully put together. One of the highlights was visiting the thermal river—it was incredibly relaxing and truly felt like you were in the middle of the jungle. Seeing local families there enjoying the space made it feel even more special and real, not touristy at all.
We also stopped at a few local sodas along the way, and those were some of the best parts of the trip. The food was great, and it gave us a chance to experience Costa Rican culture in a way you just can’t get at bigger restaurants.
Adrián was knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and made the entire experience feel personal rather than scripted. You can tell he genuinely cares about showing people the real Costa Rica.
If you’re looking for something authentic, relaxed, and memorable—this is it. I’d absolutely do it again

Néstor, this is a late reply and you already know why. We have done two trips since you wrote this, so thanking you now feels a little out of order.
What you said about being Tico and not wanting the copy-and-paste version is the thing I think about most, and it is my main goal every time. But having you on board is a harder audience than any traveler, because you already know what the real thing looks like. If the thermal river had felt staged, you would have known in ten seconds.
The local sodas, the small family-run kitchens where Costa Ricans actually eat, are the part nobody puts in a tourist brochure and they are usually the part people remember. Same with seeing local families truly enjoying the river and making you feel like one of them. That is not something I can arrange, it just happens when you go where local people actually go.
Thanks for coming back twice. That is my confirmation that showing the real and the unique in every experience is working, and thanks for sending people my way. See you on your next visit.

12/10 Recommend
The day with Adrian was amazing! He was very flexible and accommodating to what we wanted to explore. He took us to local stops and had much to share about Costa Rica, the nature, and the culture . As great as La Fortuna was (much thanks to the itinerary), we really enjoyed our conversations with Adrian and his company on the trip. Will definitely be coming back to Costa Rica for more adventures with Adrian!!

Thank you. Coming to me directly first is what made the rest possible. You told me what your group actually wanted to see, I suggested a few changes to the plan, and to your credit you listened, which is not always the case.
The biggest change was giving it more room. What started as a single day worked much better once we let it breathe. La Fortuna is worth that: the Arenal Volcano is the reason most people come, but the hidden waterfalls we reached are not on any standard itinerary, and neither are the roadside kitchens along the way where Costa Ricans actually eat. Those are the stops that stay with people long after the volcano photo.
Most itineraries treat La Fortuna as a checkbox between two other places. It rewards the opposite approach, and there is far more around it than the version everyone books.
The conversations were my favorite part too. That only happens when nobody is watching a clock.
Come back for another adventure whenever you are ready. There is a lot of Costa Rica left.

Amazing.
It was a beautiful experience! We visit the mountain, volcanoes and hot springs. Adrian adapts to what you want and makes you have the best experience. In my case it even fulfilled my desire to see a sloth in its habitat. Super recommended!!

Marina, muchas gracias.

A different journey than I used to
An off-the-beaten-path tour, where we visit places not usually listed in tourist guides. My favorite part was the visit to the Chollin River at night. Adrian sought the best way to make the most of my stay in Costa Rica, visiting places and having the facility to make stops to enjoy different places. It has certainly been one of the most disruptive trips and I was surprised by the beauty that Costa Rica offers.
事業者からの返答
Muchas gracias.

An authentic experience in Costa Rica
I had the opportunity to do a private 3-day tour with Adrian around Costa Rica, visiting Arenal, Rio Celeste, hot springs and other amazing places, and it was a truly exceptional experience.
From the beginning, Adrian was very professional, organized and attentive. But more than that, what made the difference was being able to get to know the country with someone local, who really understands the culture, history and essence of Costa Rica.
During the trip, we not only visited beautiful places, but also learned a lot: about the history of the country, nature, food, local fruits and even music. Adrian always had the patience to answer all my questions and adapted the tour flexibly according to what I wanted to live in each moment.
Also, everything was very comfortable and safe: transport in a spacious, clean, air-conditioned SUV, and a quiet drive. I felt very well accompanied throughout the trip.
One thing I want to highlight is that you were absolutely right when you said it’s not just a tour, it’s an experience. My trip in Costa Rica was completely changed by doing it with him. I was able to know places that I would not have found alone and live the country in a much more authentic way.
I totally recommend Adrian if you want to discover Costa Rica for real, with someone reliable, friendly and passionate about what he does.
Pure life! 🌿

Carolina, muchas gracias.

Great experience
This was an amazing experience with great hot spring, volcano view and a hike! I highly recommend.

Thank you. That combination is the reason the day works: the hike at La Paz in the morning, the Arenal Volcano in the afternoon, and the hot springs of La Fortuna at the end, when your legs have earned them. Doing it in that order matters more than people expect.
Come back for another part of Costa Rica whenever you are ready.
