Great tour! Nunu (sp) gave us the white glove treatment the entire day. We didn’t decide to add this trip until the day prior so we didn’t have timed entry tickets to any of the palaces. This tour included skip-the-line tickets and Nunu dropped us at the door (there were still about 10,000 steps for the day) then parked the car before catching up with us and giving awesome tours of the castles. I can’t recommend this tour and our guide enough.

Our guide was incredibly attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. He shared so much interesting information about Portugal, Sintra and its historys, culture and people, while always making sure to take our individual wishes and needs into consideration. Nothing felt rushed or impersonal – the tour was perfectly tailored to us and we felt very well looked after from start to finish. What made the experience even more special was the warm and personal atmosphere. You can truly feel the passion and dedication behind this lovely family-run business. It is clear that they genuinely care about their guests and want them to have an unforgettable experience. We would wholeheartedly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Portugal. Vasco arrived on time and was very charming. As soon as we got into the car, he explained the plan for the day clearly. We had booked a tour to Pena Palace and Regaleira (tickets included) for $879. He advised that, at Pena, it’s better to do just the balcony tour since many interior sections are closed, and suggested visiting the National Palace instead. He also mentioned that Regaleira tends to be very busy in the morning, so he planned to take us there in the afternoon. After visiting Pena, we stopped for lunch, and that’s when things changed. After lunch, he told us we could no longer go to Regaleira because it was fully booked. This was surprising, as we had booked the tour a month in advance. It raised questions about why tickets hadn’t been secured ahead of time or why this wasn’t known earlier in the day. He then said he would take us to the National Palace instead of Regaleira, even though he had already mentioned visiting it earlier as an alternative to the Pena interior. Fortunately, we were able to arrange tickets ourselves for the next day and visit Regaleira independently. We were disappointed by the experience. The explanations we were given didn’t add up, and after speaking with customer service, we were told the reasons provided were not accurate. It felt like the situation could have been avoided with better planning, and unfortunately, it ended up wasting a significant part of our day. Even worst part was that he blamed his own government for closing the booking whereas it was his own incompetence. Please avoid him

However, it is important to clarify that on the day of the tour, Sintra was operating under exceptional conditions due to sudden restrictions imposed by local authorities on traffic circulation and access during the Easter period, without prior notice to operators. This directly impacted access to throughout the day. At the start of the day, during the initial briefing, we clearly presented the possible constraints that could arise given these conditions. In order to anticipate and secure access to , we suggested making a decision early in the morning so that tickets could still be reserved in time. However, we were informed, while already in the vehicle, that the decision would be made later depending on how the day progressed, particularly as you preferred a more relaxed pace and the children showed limited interest in visiting additional monuments. From the beginning, we informed you of potential constraints and acted with full professionalism in adapting the program. It is also important to note that our tour includes the visit to Pena Palece limited to the terraces and gardens only. Given the impossibility of visiting Quinta da Regaleira , we proposed as an alternative the Nacional Palece in the historic center, as well as the option to choose another palace or monument from the alternatives presented, in order to maintain the quality and continuity of the experience. Regarding the information you mentioned receiving afterward, it does not accurately reflect the operational reality experienced on the ground that day, which may have contributed to a misinterpretation of the situation. Throughout the entire service, we maintained a punctual, attentive, and solution-oriented approach, including additional concierge support for the remainder of your stay. We understand that unforeseen circumstances can be frustrating. However, we cannot agree with the way the situation was described, nor with the association to a lack of professionalism, which does not reflect our standards. My husband and I had a fantastic time exploring Sintra & Cascais with our guide Vasco! We made the booking only a few days in advance, and his team was proactive in suggesting we move our tour back a day to avoid rainy weather on the coast. As a result, we ended up with a perfect sunny autumn day for our tour! Vasco provided excellent service, with pick up and drop off at our hotel in Lisbon — even showing up 10 min early to our pickup time. Our day included a tour of the town centers of Caiscais and Sintra, several stops to taste local treats like cherry liqueur and Portuguese pastries, a visit to the scenic lookout of Cabo da Roca, and a very extensive tour of the Regeleira estate in Sintra. The cherry on top was an absolutely spectacular lunch at a restaurant overlooking the bluffs of the Atlantic coast. I would absolutely recommend this tour — Vasco was a knowledgeable local guide and very flexible to adjust the itinerary according to our interests. Well worth the money to see the coast in style — thank you Vasco!!
We were fortunate to have Bruno Fernandez as our tour guide, arranged through Viator. He was extremely knowledgeable about the sites we visited and about the country as a whole. Bruno was personable, thoughtful, and offered many suggestions that truly enhanced our visi. He made the experience enjoyable and engaging from start to finish. This was the best day of our trip so far, and that was entirely thanks to Bruno's guidance. I will gladly recommend him to family and friends visiting this area.
We had a truly wonderful day with Vasco, on our third trip to Portugal! Staying in Cascais for a few days before heading down the coast, we wanted a proper exploration of Sintra without worrying about buses / trains etc. so booked an all day trip for a family of four (kids 14 and 11.5). We had an absolutely brilliant day - Vasco brought us to so many interesting places and knows all the best places to stop which are off the beaten track. He also gave us a full guided tour of Quinta de Regaleira and is so knowledgable about the area. His commitment to making sure customers are looked after and having a good time is exceptional. He knows everyone in the area and provides a top class service. The trip was worth every penny to us as it was tailored to our wishes and to ensure our kids were not bored!
My daughter and I booked this customizable tour as private because we wanted to spend time at Monserrat and Cascais. On the morning of our tour we received a text that we would be sharing the tour with another couple. They wanted to see Pena Palace and Quinta de Regaleira so we only made a brief stop at Monserrat and only drove through Cascais. I saved a long time for this tour and will likely not make it back to see Cascais, which was my dream. I gave the tour operator many chances to reduce the fee to a “small group” rate rather than private and they refused my request.
Amazing day of visiting all of Sintra and the beautiful coast of Portugal. We got inside all 3 major landmarks, lovely lunch in village & drive along the coast.
