We had an amazing experience. Our guide was Miguel for the private tour. We were pleasantly surprised that we were having a private tour but thrilled as Miquel was as knowledgeable on one subject as much as another: Portuguese history, European history, American history as well as being up on current trends and cultural differences. He made the tour interesting memorable. The sites themselves were fantastic and we had just the right amount of free time as well as guided time. I also enjoyed the idea that we had input in the sites and the timing.

Private tour worth it!
I feel that your guide you are with will determine your experience. We had the best guide ever. Pedro is his name! He had so much knowledge about everything. Sintra was Beautiful and the Palace was a bit crowded by still worth seeing.

Sebastian gave us some good memories
Sebastian was knowledgeable, efficient and accommodating. He ensured we knew where we were supposed to go, what to do and times to meet. He rushed to get the van to pick us up and went out of his way to be helpful.
We had Full Tour at his Pena Palace and he went in and got us front of the line access. And at Quinta de Regaliera he lead the way for the challenging visit.
We would highly recommend Sebastian as a great tour guide that is full of knowledge for you visit.

Sintra and Regaleria tour from Lisbon
We were picked up at our Hotel in a very nice and clean van. Our tour guide Pedro introduced himself and we immediately knew it was going to be a good day! He is a very good driver and we felt at ease the whole time. Pedro is also a wealth of knowledge about the area. We visited Sintra, which is where he is from. We had time to explore the area on our own and then he met up with us to walk to the Regaleria while he taught us about the property and about Sintra. We bought tickets to the Regaleria online before the trip. I had a hard time downloading them so a screenshot was sufficient for entrance. I would recommend printing the tickets as well before the trip. The Regaleria is amazing. There is so much to take in and we felt we had plenty of time to learn and explore. After the Regaleria we had a nice lunch in Cascais then explored Cascais a bit before heading back to our hotel in Lisbon. The whole tour was 9 hours. Driving to Sintra took about 40 minutes one way. On the way back there was a little more traffic in Lisbon which is to be expected. It was a great day and well worth the price of the tour! It was a stress free and enjoyable day and we would highly recommend our tour guide Pedro! He speaks English fluently and I heard him speak Spanish as well. He might even speak other languages!

An unforgettable day in Sintra with Katherine.
I was traveling solo, and Katherine made my day in Sintra absolutely unforgettable. From the moment I met her, I felt completely at ease. It honestly felt less like being with a tour guide and more like spending the day with a warm, fun, and incredibly knowledgeable friend.
We visited Pena Palace, Quinta da Regaleira, Cabo da Roca (the westernmost point in Europe) and Cascais. Katherine brought every place to life with her incredible knowledge of the history, architecture, and fascinating families who lived there and helped shape these remarkable places. Her stories and insights gave me a much deeper appreciation for everything I was seeing.
As a solo traveler, I especially appreciated how comfortable and relaxed she made the entire day feel. She was warm, personable, funny, and genuinely passionate about sharing her knowledge. I never felt like I was simply being taken from one attraction to another; it felt like I was exploring with a friend who happened to know everything about Sintra.
I can't recommend Katherine highly enough. If you're traveling solo or if you're looking for a guide who is knowledgeable, engaging, warm, and makes you feel completely comfortable, Katherine is the person to book. She made an already beautiful day absolutely exceptional, and I would happily book another tour with her!

Sintra visit
Our guides Catherine and Pedro were very good and really looked after us very well. They explained the history of the buildings and anything else we asked.
There is a lot of walking and quite a bit of it uphill.

Amazing private tour
We had a fabulous tour with Pedro. He was very knowledgeable with Portuguese history. He also made a wonderful lunch recommendation as well as taking us to a few more unexpected stops.

Best tour of our lives!
This was hands down the best tour of our entire trip! Miguel was absolutely phenomenal! We were able to move through each of the palaces with such ease while enjoying a truly personalized experience.
Miguel went above and beyond in every way! He was incredibly knowledgeable at every stop and even helped out a few other tour guides who were stumped by certain facts and questions.
100/10 experience! We’re so glad we let Miguel take the lead while we sat back, relaxed, and enjoyed everything Sintra had to offer. If you’re considering booking this tour, DO IT! You will not be disappointed! :)
