We booked this and weren’t offered upgraded tickets when we booked so didn’t know this existed. To sit outside you had to have an upgrade ticket and inside was far too hot. There was also a large hen party on board who were all shouting and talking over the driver so no one else could hear the tour information she was providing over the microphone. Other people were also visibly mad and telling the party to be quiete but the staff done nothing. We just felt the staff should have considered other customers. A real shame as we were so looking forward to this and the captain done her best.
Luckily the tour was included in the Salzburg card. Calling it a tour is out of place considering that due to the scarcity of water we limited ourselves to going back and forth for 200mt and making the boat spin on itself 360 degrees. I do not recommend it if it is summer and if the river level is low.
It is not worth the money. Some historical explanations but from the vantage point of the river, the most you see are the dirty backsides of the buildings. Explore from above instead. Better yet, go to Hohensalzburg fortress where you are rewarded with sweeping views of the city!

We loved speeding upriver with our fun captain and fellow travelers. The views are wonderful and give you a great overview of the city.
Overall, it was a good experience. The problems we had were situational and not the problem of the company. The captains were extremely friendly and very kind to the children on board. The boat itself was very nice. The only problems we had were because of the extreme heat of the day, it became extremely uncomfortable on the boat. Also, due to the low level of the river, they could not give a full tour they did though give us a partial refund, which was good business practice and appreciated. The tour itself was very informative. Salisbury is a beautiful city and it’s nice to see it from different angles.
There is no air conditioning on board, only fans; at 33 degrees Celsius outside and with sunshine streaming through the windows, one sweats excessively! A water costs 3.30 euros, is warm, and is served in a cup!
This was the lamest European city Riverboat Cruise I have ever been on. The boat only cruised half the city and the rest was through uninteresting wooded suburbs. The boat itself is not well designed to admire the citiy's landmarks which are on higher hround unless you have a window seat. Despite the warm weather, there was no open air seating available.
This river cruise is a short 45 minute ride where you sit back and enjoy. Drinks are offered on board. Nice to relax and appreciate the river.
