This was a very educational experience, focusing on Chinese history in Vancouver, Chinese traditions, and a sampling of delicious foods from local proprietors. Our tour guide was friendly and highly knowledgeable. We enjoyed the experience very much!

Great tour. Bob was very knowledgeable and interesting. Would have preferred to eat a little earlier in the tour rather than waiting until 12:45 for first taste. But overall great experience

We had a great time! The food tastes were fun and the sit-down dim sum lunch was expansive. However the real treat of this tour is the ongoing narrative of Bob Sen. His explanation of Chinese culture and history of the Chinese in Vancouver from initial migrations to today was most informative. As we progressed through shops and museums (where everyone knew him!) BobI made sure we had a real taste of Vancouver’s Chinatown. It was a long walking tour but worth every step!

Bob was an amazing tour guide and was very thoughtful in sharing Chinese Culture and food. We also shared stories about our families and backgrounds and in the end, it felt like we were all friends. We loved walking through Chinatown and going to several museums, an herbal shop and a tea shop. We even had dimsum together. This was my first food tour, but certainly won’t be my last. Bob is an excellent tour guide and I highly recommend this experience!

Chef Bob made this food tour a highlight of our visit to Vancouver. Even though we had lived in China, we still learned so much. Wonderful!

This was one of the best tours that we have been on. We both feel that we got so much more out of the places that we visited, benefiting from Kenson’s knowledge of Chinese culture and customs. We loved the personal stories that Kenson shared with us as he told us about Chinese customs. The food was amazing! Kenson educated our group about what to look for in certain types of dim sum, the traditional meaning of the dishes, etc. Yummmmm!!!

Great tour! We learned about the three Chinese disciplines, immigration, healing therapy, had good food and more. Kenson was a great teacher and tour guide.

Great experience, so very interesting! Started with such a beautiful garden, then food, food and more food, ending (almost) with a fantastic dim sum lunch. We then had a wonderful tea demonstration and as a non-tea drinker, I really enjoyed it (and the tea). Our guide Thomas was funny, engaging and so knowledgeable. And Bob Sung, the organizer, made a point of stopping by to meet us. Highly recommend this tour!

We had an exceptional tour with Thomas. During the tour he shared the incredible history of Chinese immigrants to Vancouver’s and the development of Chinatown, including his personal history growing up, then working and living in the area. The pacing of the tour was well-considered, providing bursts of learning between delicious food stops, so that we could pace ourselves. Ending the tour at the Chinese Tea Shop was unique and different from other tours we’ve done. Hands down, I would recommend A Wok Around Chinatown.
