Mixed experience. Initial pick up was 20 minutes late. Boat and volcano trip was good. Guide very knowledgeable and friendly staff. On arrival back to port there had been an issue with the buses which meant an hours wait just standing around. Then, we got on the bus and got half way up the cliff only for it to somehow turn round and go back to the bottom. This resulted in us having hardly any time in Oia, so much so we consciously skipped the return and got a public transport bus back to where we were staying.

Very nice excursion
We booked directly with the help of the owner of the property where we were staying. Impeccable organization. Pick-up very close to our hotel, collecting other participants at various points until the port where we boarded the boat.
The guide was professional and friendly throughout the first part of the visit (navigation and excursion on the volcano for those interested).
Excursion to the island of Nea Kammeni is optional and for a fee (€5 for adults, €2.5 for children), nice and not overly strenuous if you are fit. During the entire climb, the guide provided a lot of information (in English).
Afterward, we left again by boat to take a swim in the hot springs; nothing exceptional, but it fit well into the day's schedule.
At lunchtime, we were taken to the island of Thirasia for a lunch and swimming stop.
Upon returning to the port, we boarded a bus heading to Oia. Tour with the option to follow another guide or explore on your own.
Oia is very beautiful but unfortunately very crowded at sunset.
Overall the tour went well, always to be evaluated among the various tours with large groups.

Really great day
We had a brilliant day and our hotel gave us loads of good pre-info such as the bus will probably be late but don’t worry (it was and others were worried so we were able to tell them it was ok), to wear strong shoes for the volcano and to have a hat and cover because the boat is quite open.
After the late pick up, everything else was spot on time and perfect. The very long day went so quickly.
The volcano is a reasonably difficult walk as it’s so hot. The swim was fun but not hot (I didn’t mind) and the place for lunch we found a nice restaurant and had a swim.
At Oia we again found a nice restaurant to watch the sunset from. Got back on the coach at 9pm, home just before 10pm.
Our guide was brilliant but I didn’t hear her name. It was on 24th July.
