It was a well spent day! Facility is beautifully kept. Plenty of beautiful fish, corral, etc! I also took the cable car after and that was a nice view. 2 recommendations buy the tickets online and for the cable car do it for one way and walk back…. If the weather’s nice it’s a nice walk
Since 1998 we have heard about the Lisbon Oceanarium, another innovation in the study and defense of the oceans, 100 years after the founding of the Vasco da Gama Aquarium, by King D. Carlos I, in 1898. Two very different, but essential, experiences for those who love 97% of the territory under Portuguese jurisdiction. As a classic aquarist, decades ago, I found it very interesting to see the "Underwater Forests by Takashi Amano" and all the remaining details of the Aquarium.
Best aquarium we've ever seen. The central tank is so large that it offers multiple -- maybe 10 or more -- windows into the tank on two levels, some very large, some smaller next to the nooks where some fish and creatures preferred to hole up. Lots of different kinds of marine life, but also penguins, otters and birds. It also has smaller tanks that offer closeup views of sea life that might not be visible in the large tank, like anemone, starfish and sea horses.
It's the second time I'm going to the Lisbon Oceanarium. I went for the first time in 2024 and returned now in September/26. Besides new attractions, the experience is incredible. It's a must-see for anyone going to Lisbon.
Such a lovely aquarium! We enjoyed the temporary exhibits as well as the wonderful creatures thay lived in the aquarium. My personal highlight was the Mola mola, which was a big reason for our visit.
Loved it. Central tank was amazing. Lots of viewing areas. Detailed species and habitat information; divers feeding specific species at different times; lots of areas to sit and rest as you went around the aquarium. Couldn’t fault it.
A nice place to spend a couple of hours with the kids. The area itself is very nice and also worth a stroll.
My second time here and always a blast. I do miss the water exhibit on the 3rd floor. The new tundra exhibit is kinda meh
This aquarium is one of the best we have ever seen. It is a must do when you visit Lisbon. Fee is reasonable. We spent 90 minutes seeing the various exhibits. It was crowded. I can imagine weekends are much worse. We highly recommend a visit.
The Oceanarium is a beautiful experience for the family. On the way, you will pass by several small, medium aquariums, and one huge aquarium that allows you to view several rooms. It's a trip that takes a few hours, at least 2 hours. But it might take longer, if you want to appreciate each one, Aquarius. I visited for the second time, now with my 3-year-old daughter. She loved it!!! A good option for a family outing!
