We took this Gilded Age walking tour and it was a fantastic experience, start to finish. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable, and brought the drama and opulence of the era to life. There were vivid stories and details we would never have discovered on our own. The route was easy to follow, the architecture was stunning, and it brought us to hidden corners of NYC which captured the spirit of the time.  We’ve done other TellBetter tours - they’re all engaging, easy to follow, and we’re not rushed as we control the pace. The Guilded Age struck a nice balance between history, storytelling, and enjoying being out in New York City.  This is a great tour for anyone who wants an immersive experience with the city’s past.

This walking tour is excellent and the app is easy to use and it tracks where you are and plays the appropriate information automatically. Very informative and interesting. We enjoyed it very much.

I thought the narrator was great. I could picture the scenes as I stood in front of each spot on the tour. Most memorable were some of the contemporary aspects that were sprinkled into the gilded age stories. I also had to look up pepper mills & Porfirio Rubirosa;) I’ll definitely do another tour like this next time I’m in NYC, or anywhere.

We enjoyed this informative tour and going at our own pace. Highly recommend! It’s nice to not have to be somewhere at an exact time.

Fun and affordable way to see this section of the city! We had a bit of trouble getting the hang of it in the beginning as our starting point wasn’t lining up with audio. Once we figured that part out, it was a lovely stroll.

Perfect pace for a solo tour. I was able to stop and start when I saw different things along the way. They even tell you where there are restroom stops. Extremely informative.

Great tour to do alone on a beautiful day in NYC, especially ending at the Met. I was under the impression from another tour that all the gilded age mansions were gone, but this tour took us to lots of different homes. Lots of great historical information!

Better than with a live tour guide. The quality of the script is outstanding. The information is thorough, the presentation is brilliant, both enlightening and entertaining. The technical aspect is what really surprised: the GPS tracks your location and tells you to cross the street, to look to the left or to the right – it's very well done. There's no "dead time" as with a live guide when you walk from one location to the next; you are being talked to the entire time. You have the flexibility to rewind, pause and resume, answer a phone call, take a break. Game changer!

This was AMAZING! The app was easy to download and worked perfectly. It knows exactly where you are, which cues it to begin the respective story. It also gave clear directions on where to go, when to stop, etc. The narration was super entertaining, and we learned a ton. It was so good, I bought a package of tours as a wedding gift for my brother and his wife because they love history, traveling and are introverts like my husband and me :-)

The audio was super easy to follow with such clear instructions and the stories behind the mansions were fascinating. We would even do it again!
