Wonderful guide, well planned, great bang for the buck

An entertaining, informative tour. Our guide, Ro, was clearly enthusiastic about the Guilded age and shared lots of facts and drama about it. Highly recommend!!

I’m a part-time NY resident so I thought it would be good to learn some history. This was a great tour and Richard was so knowledgeable. It was great to get out, get some exercise and learn about the buildings and neighborhoods in Manhattan. I highly recommend if you’re a resident or just visiting.

Pete was an informative guide but we were under the mistaken impression that we would actually go into some of the historical buildings that still existed. The pictures he showed us were helpful to know about the old buildings. However we could find them on our own. The tour was over two hours long. We thought it could be shortened but the rest of the group seemed to enjoy the tour.

I was so excited to go on this tour and learn more about the history of the mansions in NYC during the Gilded Age.This tour did not disappoint! Walking down the streets and listening to the stories were fascinating to me. Our tour guide had incredible knowledge about the history and buildings. He welcomed questions and answered them all. It is a nice way to get exercise and learn some history! I highly recommend the tour!

Richard was our tour guide, he was professional, knowledgeable, approachable and attentive. He made sure the entire group was participating and was concerned we were always safe and that we kept together. He encouraged questions and discussion. There were 13 in our group and we all enjoyed it very much. Thank you Richard.

Very fun and informative. Richard was great and extremely knowledgeable. Such a friendly and personable guy. If you can do the tour with him, I would recommend it. Admittedly, we had great weather for the tour, which makes it an even better experience. Bring your camera and wear comfortable shoes. Just to add, you don’t actually tour the insides of the mansions as they are either converted to private residences or occupied by governmental or private businesses.

This was a wonderful experience. We have been to NYC so many times, and I learned so much I never knew before while on this tour. We ended up so interested in the Gilded Age that we watched the show and read books about it after the trip.

Very interesting and educational about buildings and a part of the city I have been to many times before.
