Our tour guide, Julie, was wonderful. Her personality was engaging and fun. She enjoyed giving us the tour despite the very hot weather. She was very knowledgeable about Basel and took us to many beautiful sites, including a short boat ride across the Rhine River. I highly recommend this tour.
Paola was very nice and very knowledgeable about the city. We enjoyed the tour and thr recommendations.
Rahel was our guide and she was absolutely lovely! We met on time and toured the oldest church in Basel and learned about the rich history all the way back to the 10th century! We then walked through town and saw the Town Hall, museums, cheese shops, and her favorite chocolate shop which was delicious. We went to the gates and through the botanical gardens, and honestly so much more. It was truly a great experience! :)

Highly recommend doing Basel Old Town Walking Tour with a guide. Paola is friendly and cheerful, passionate about the history of Old Town and its amazing culture. She took us to 400+ year old homes, churches, memorable small neighborhoods, family owned shops, and to a panoramic view of the Rhein and city. We appreciate more what makes Basel another one of Switzerland’s gems.
We ended up as the only ones on our tour with Michael. He adjusted the start and end location of our tour to accommodate us. He also guided us on arranging transport to the train station. He lead us through areas we would have not found on our own. His information was interesting and you can tell he took a lot of pride in the beauty of Basal.

We spent over two fantastic hours with her exploring the city’s key sights and diving deep into its rich history. Paola is incredibly knowledgeable, but she delivers that information with a funny and engaging personality that keeps the tour light and enjoyable. She was also remarkably patient and helpful, taking the time to answer all of our questions and ensuring we never felt rushed. Beyond the history and landmarks, she went above and beyond by providing excellent local recommendations. She steered us toward great restaurants, the perfect spots to grab a beer, and even pointed out the best souvenir shops to visit after the tour. She truly made our time in Basel memorable.
