To see the sunrise and amazing vistas from Mt Batur was the one thing everyone we met told us we should do .
It was worth it ! Despite the very early start , despite the rather more challenging hike that I was expecting and realising my fitness levels were no where as good as o thought . The guide up the mountain was so supportive and encouraging we made it up and down safely . One hint here : do wear footwear dor hiking - I proved that trainers aren’t good enough ! It’s a steep 2 hour climb in the dark but you are given a head torch and a walking stick - both necessities . The walk down in daylight is faster and easier
Then our driver took us to the coffee plantation which is amazing to see growing there . It’s set up as a show and sell and they work subtly to ensue you buy something there !
The driver then took us to two spectacular waterfalls . With my legs still aching from the mountain climb and still with the wrong footwear the driver stayed with us and was so helpful - even jumping the instagram line to take some stunning pictures for me
All in all a good but exhausting day and a lot of good memories made z

Dear Mr./Mrs. Samanthkc,
Thank you very much for your wonderful and heartfelt review following your experience on May 4, 2026. It truly means a lot to us that you chose to share your journey, and we are so happy to know that watching the sunrise from Mount Batur became such a special and memorable moment during your time in Bali.
We completely understand your feelings about the early start and the physical challenge of the hike—it is indeed not an easy climb, especially in the dark. Your honesty makes your achievement even more meaningful, and we truly admire your determination to reach the top. We’re especially pleased to hear that your guide was supportive and encouraging throughout the trek. Our team always strives to create a safe, comfortable, and uplifting experience for every guest, no matter their fitness level.
Thank you as well for sharing the helpful tip about proper hiking footwear—this is something future travelers will really benefit from, and we truly appreciate you highlighting it.
It’s lovely to hear that you also enjoyed the visit to the coffee plantation and the opportunity to see how everything is grown locally. And after such a demanding climb, continuing on to explore the waterfalls is no small effort—we really appreciate your spirit! We’re very glad to know that your driver was attentive, patient, and thoughtful, especially in assisting you along the way and capturing those beautiful moments for you. Small gestures like these are something we deeply value as part of our service.
Your words about the day being both “good but exhausting” perfectly describe the experience—and we’re so grateful that, in the end, it brought you many wonderful memories.
Thank you once again for your trust and kind feedback. It would be our absolute pleasure to welcome you back to Bali for another adventure—perhaps something a little more relaxing next time!
Warmest regards,
Jerosusun

Incredible sunrise hike with breathtaking waterfall and tasty coffee to end the morning
Incredible sunrise hike with guide trekking at my pace. He went above and beyond with photography and recommended routes to avoid crowds. (The less visited crater loop trail was one of my highlights!) Driver, Nawe, was always on time and available the moment the activities ended. He happily recommended several waterfall options for the tour! Incredible staff all around and I will recommend this tour in the future!

Waterfall paradise
We had bad weather conditions, so we haven‘t seen much of the sunrise.
But the hike was fun and the waterfall was stunning in the morning, because there haven’t been many other people.

Highly recommended volcano hike and water falls
Great experience and amazing service: the perfect guide for us, who did suit the hike to our skills and gave the best experience away from the crowd. Our driver saved the day on top of the nicest scenic short cut drives on the way back. Sorry for not remembering names! Thank you again both! 🙏

great sunrise and waterfall
i had really great guides. the driver (ada) who picked us up was very kind and we had an lot of fun talking to him on the way back. we booked with the waterfall and he also showed us there. he even took amazing pictures of us wich was really cool.
and the guide we had on the mountain (wayan) was also super nice! he made us breakfast at the top and even showed us how eggs could be cooked in the volcano. on the way up he always asked if we were fine and had a general very friendly spirit. he too took a lot of pictures.

Great guide and driver.
We had a great time on the hike with our door guide who was very friendly and informative. our driver putu was punctual, friendly and very easy to talk to. would definitely recommend both if your thinking of doing the hike.

super worth it
They say the hike takes 2 hours and we really did it in 2 hours (even with frequent breaks), in time to catch the entire the sunrise! For reference, I'm mid-twenties and boulder regularly for sport but I struggle to finish a 2.5-3km jog lol. The hike was def an intense workout but it wasn't as torturous/unbearable as I had feared! If you really can't take it, there are motorcycles along the way looking for tired passengers to bring up or down.
I think for a **relatively** easy/short hike the views are SUPER worth it. It's high enough to be magical but not so high that you can't see the ground - you have views of the farmland and the lake below, the clouds and nearby mountains at eye level, and the stars above. Quite breathtaking.
Guide and driver were great. We didn't proceed with the waterfall segment because my dad sprained his knee on the down trek. But getting a partial refund was very seamless.
The description says it's a visit to Tukad Cepung waterfall but our driver said actually we can choose between Tukad Cepung and Tegenungan. Our driver said no swimming at Tukad Cepung. I've been to Tegenungan on a previous visit to Bali and it was A LOT of steep stairs up and down, maybe not the best idea after an intense hike. Can swim there tho. Also I suspect there isn't much of a "guide" at the waterfall, it seemed like the driver will just drop you off there.
