Tropea in 3 Days: The Ideal Itinerary

Three days is the right stay: one to settle into the town and its beach, one on the water, one for the volcano. Here is the split, with the tours worth booking.

概要

  1. 1Day 1: town & beach
  2. 2Day 2: Coast of the Gods
  3. 3Day 3: Stromboli by night
  4. 4Pizzo for tartufo

Day 1: town and sand

The old town in the morning, the Rotonda beach below it all afternoon, the sanctuary stairway at sunset.

Day 2: the coast

A boat day south to Capo Vaticano with snorkelling in the caves, or a private charter if there are a few of you.

Day 3: Stromboli

North to Pizzo for the cave church and a tartufo, then the evening excursion out to watch the volcano erupt.

Tropea in 3 days — よくある質問

Is three days enough for Tropea?
Three days covers the town, a full day on the water and the Stromboli excursion, which is the whole point of coming here. A fourth day is worth it only if you want Scilla or the Sila mountains inland.
What should you not miss in Tropea?
The view from the belvedere down onto Santa Maria dell’Isola, a boat tour to Capo Vaticano, Stromboli erupting after dark, and a tartufo in Pizzo — in roughly that order of importance.
Where should you stay in Tropea?
In the old town for the evenings and the view, though it means stairs down to the beach and back. The Marina and Santa Domenica have easier beach access and are quieter in August.
