Very good experience with authentic feel, tasty Dal Bhat, friendly host. Maybe a little over-priced.
I'm absolutely thrilled about this great family who taught me how to make the world famous momos here. It was not only educational but simply delicious. In the end I was allowed to eat as many momos as I want and I got a recipe to photograph. I take the recipe to Germany.:)
It was a wonderful and authentic experience. We made a traditional Nepali meal. The ingredients were explained in detail and many came from the garden in the hotel. It was very hands-on and the recipe for all the elements of the meal was available afterwards.
We love momos! They are tricky to make though! Nothing beats hands on teaching to learn the technique, with instructions on finger and thumb placement, grip pressure etc. It was a really fun class, and good to chat as we ate our tasty and beautifully imperfect creations!
Lovely family feel cooking lesson learning how to make momos with a father and son! And fab to learn to make something that I can hopefully recreate at home :)
Unfortunately this class (compared to others we have done through TripAdvisor) failed to meet our expectations. The host had forgotten about our booking completely & was ill prepared with ingredients, even having to take off to go buy a cauliflower! Lighting was poor (only one light working in kitchen) & only one twin gas element to work on. Luckily, we were the only ones there for the Dahl class, as there’s no space for others! (The momo class is done around their dining table). We did learn a couple of things (main the use of pressure cookers), but the host’s ‘teaching’ style needs refinement. In the end, the food was fine, just not the experience.
The cooking class was really informative and fun! Chef Bam put in a lot of effort and took our food preferences into account (vegan, garlic, spicy, etc.). It was a great experience to make Nepali momos from scratch—dough, filling, and folding—and they tasted even better because of it!
Very Nice Experience! Highly Recommend! ⭐️ We felt very welcome by the host. Good Teacher and great company. 😊 Ramro 👍👍
Very easy and funny way to learn more about Nepali culture. You can choose between vegetarian/non-vegetarian and the spiciness
The class was so loving and friendly, we felt very much taken care of and guided through the process of learning how to cook momos. The momos were delicious and the time just flew by! We had a great time!
