Itinerary
We start the tour with a short funicular ride. The Polybahn takes us up from Central to the panorama terrace in front of the main building of the Federal Institute of Technology in just three minutes. Here you will enjoy superb views of the city and you will learn interesting facts about ETH, education, science, and innovation in Switzerland.
Discover the cultural and natural sides of Zurich during this 5 - 6 hours tour by walking in a small group and by using excellent public transport. Enrich your knowledge about Switzerland's business and cultural capital while listening to your guide pointing out the highlights of this unique town. While strolling around we will focus on Bahnhofstrasse - Zurich's main downtown street and one of the world's most expensive shopping avenues; Limmatquai - a vibrant dining area with many interesting Guild houses; Lindenhof - a former roman settlement and toll; St. Peter Church - one of the four main churches in Zurich whose clock face is the largest in all of Europe; Fraumünster - famous for its Chagall Windows, Grossmünster Church - the icon of Zurich and the place where Reformation has begun; ETH - whose most famous former student and professor are Albert Einstein and other 20 Nobel Prize laureates; The house where Lenin was living before returning to Russia for leading the revolution.
Lindenhof is an oasis at the heart of the city. This glorious park has been known since the year 80 BC and is regarded as the origin of Zurich’s history. Thanks to its great view it’s also an ideal location for a great photo opportunity.
After the city tour and the short hike on the local little mountain, we are heading back to Zurich by boat. We will enjoy a 45 min cruise on Lake Zurich and talking about the chocolate while passing nearby Lindt Chocolate Factory and will admire one of the most expensive areas of the Lake Zurich, where celebrities as Tina Turner are living.
After the city walking tour, we will continue with a journey to the local little mountain Uetliberg or Felsenegg to experience a short aerial cable car OR train ride and enjoy breathtaking views. This is a popular recreational area for the locals living in and around Zurich and offers incredible views overlooking Zurich, the lake, and the snow-capped Alps. We will experience a short hike on a special trail called "Planetweg" which represents our solar system on a reduced scale and will enjoy the fresh air of the beautiful forest before heading back to Zurich by boat.
Uetliberg - "The Top of Zurich" is the alternative for Felsenegg, in case the weather conditions are not permitting to visit it or if the cable car is not operating due to technical maintenance.

Vasi was very knowledgeable. We saw many of Zurich's sights. We would recommend this tour if you want to see Zurich from many different angles and modes of transportation.
Vanessa was an awesome guide - very personable, knowledgeable and good sense of humor! (We listened very well right, Vanessa!)! Gave clear instructions on when and where to meet during the day. Would highly recommend.
Our tour guide Greg was excellent, very knowledgeable with a good sense of humour, be prepared to take many steps during your day, we did over 16,000 steps in our 6 hour tour. Well worth the money paid
Great way to get a feel for Zurich
Long day but well worth it if you want to see the best of Zürich on a short trip Gregg was fantastic very funny and just got the balance of talking and walking just right Great value for money
Our guide was amazing but more walking than anticipated. Could have used an hour for lunch instead of a half hour. Also, being stuffed in the cable car was not great. It was worth the money and again our guide was very good.
Thank you for your review — and we’re glad to hear that, despite everything, you felt the tour was worth the money and that our guide was very good. That said, we’re slightly puzzled by the complaint about the amount of walking. What exactly do you expect on a 5+ hour WALKING TOUR? 😄 Walking is, rather unsurprisingly, a fairly important feature of a walking tour. As for lunch, if you’re more interested in spending an hour enjoying lunch than exploring Zurich, perhaps a relaxing day on a terrace with an Aperol Spritz would have been the better choice. We’re just wondering why you bothered to book a walking tour in the first place. 😉 Regarding the cable car, unfortunately, we don’t make the rules. There is a specific maximum number of passengers permitted in each cabin, and we have absolutely no control over that. When you book a group tour, you travel with the group — that’s rather the point of a group tour. For your next visit, we warmly recommend booking a private tour. That way, you can customize exactly how much walking you would like to do, how long your lunch should be, and, of course, how many cable cars you’d like to skip until you finally find one with nobody else in it. 😄 Nevertheless, we’re happy that you enjoyed the views, found the tour worth the money, and especially appreciated your guide. Those are, after all, the main reasons people book an experience like this.
Guide and company were no shows, they came up with an elaborate story that we missed the guide when 6 of us were in the exact location they told us to be. They then had us running around Zurich for an hour and a half to meet their imaginary guide and tour group at three different locations, and surprise they were never at any of those places. Just terrible business all around especially to try to place the blame on 4 different groups of customers that all had the same experience that it was somehow our fault. I got fooled by the positive reviews in booking this tour, beware of this company!
Balanced, well rounded introduction to Zürich. Interesting sites and scenery, coupled with historical and background i formation from tour guide. Relaxed, enjoyable pace.
This is a great tour of Zurich and great tour guide .
Excellent overview of Zurich and Swiss culture. Guide was knowledgeable on history and culture. Walking through Old Town, the lake cruise and the tram ride offered nice variety. Side tip: check out the river swim in the Limmat River
