This day trip to Zaanse Schans and Giethoorn offers free hotel pick-up service in Amsterdam. A luxury and comforable mini van (Mecedes brand) will wait for you in front of your hotel. A bottled water will be provided to each traveller. Power bank, umbrella are provided and free to use during whole trip. In the morning, you would visit a Dutch cheese factory, a wooden shoe factory and enjoy a royal diamond demonstration at Zaanse Schans; After that we will travel to Giethoorn, you would discover the 'Green Venice' of Holland and enjoy one hour free boat cruise in Giethoorn. This trip is suitable for the travellers who want to spend more time in two places. This 10 hours experience gives you a relaxed, memorable and enjoyable tour with lots of beautiful photos.

At Zaanse Schans, the natural windmill village, you would first have a private guided Dutch cheese factory tour, to know how to make Gouda cheese in the traditional way. You could taste more than 26 different flavors of cheese. After that, you will visit a Dutch wooden shoes factory, over here you would watch a live demonstration of making wooden shoes by a traditional clog maker. After that you would have a private Royal Amsterdam Diamond tour, to know the history of diamond, and enjoy the 'Royal Lady' diamond with 268 facets. Of course you would have your own free time to get close to the windmills and take a lot of photos.
This attraction is the first stop at Zaanse Schans. As described above, you would experience this old cheese farm/factory, to have a private demonstration to understand how to make traditional Dutch cheese, get to know the history of this cheese farm, and cheese tasting with more than 26 different flavors.
At this attraction, you would expect to see a live demonstration of making wooden shoes by traditional clog makers, get to know the history of wooden shoes, and see different types of wooden shoes. You could have wooden shoes try-on here with different paintings / colors. Of course you can take as many photos as you want.
After Zaanse Schans, we will travel to Giethoorn. You would explore the ‘Green Little Venice’ of the Netherlands. You will enjoy about 3-4 hours here to explore the sights by yourself and your loved ones. we include 1 hour traditional boat cruise here. But if you want, you could cruise your own boat by yourself, that would have more fun with your family or friends.

Pickup Locations & Times
We offer hotel pick-up service for all locations in the Highway Ring A10, excluding north part of the IJ river (Het IJ). Travelers can take free ferry to central station from north Amsterdam. We don't pick up from the airport area. One day before the tour, we will contact you via WhatsApp or iMessage to confirm your pick up details. Make sure you leave a reachable WhatsApp or iMessage number in the booking. We pick up between 7:45 - 8:30. You are required to write down your pick up location in the booking 5 days in advance before your tour date. If there is no hotel information in your booking, you could only meet us at Amsterdam Central Station. Please be prepared and wait in front of your hotel 5 minutes in advance before our arrival.

The experience was excellent and our tour guide Erik was funny and engaging. He was great with our kids (8 & 10)and knew how to navigate the crowds to maximize our experience. The shuttle Amsterdam to Giethoorn was a bit lengthy (1.5 hr one way), so may be tricky with small children. Overall, I highly recommend!
Very interesting history of the town, fun and interesting tours in Zaanse Schans, Eric was an extremely funny guide, and gave a wonderful tour of Giethoorn. Cannot recommend enough!
Reinier was a great guide. Several unavoidable hiccups did not rattle him or affect his outgoing conversation. Enjoyed the windmills and especially Geithoorn. Plus he offered many suggestions for Amsterdam dining provided in a link for future reference. Very thoughtful.
Full day of fun stops. The day was well organized and the pace was just right. Our guide, Kai did a terrific job! I especially enjoyed the canal boat ride.
Too many tourists. Purely made to sell cheese... At least for the clogs, the worker makes one live... Otherwise, a small group is convenient for choosing your pace. The Venice of the North... having seen Venice... we are more on the magic river of an amusement park. But good service and good atmosphere
Rainier was an excellent host for this tour. He took his time to explain the sightseeing features and also gave us time to explore. I would recommend the Zaanse Schans and Giethoorn tour.
