Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine is one of Japan's most important Shinto shrines, dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, the deity of learning and scholarship. As the head shrine of more than 12,000 Tenmangu shrines across Japan, it attracts visitors from around the world who come to admire its beautiful traditional architecture, peaceful gardens, and historic atmosphere. Stroll across the iconic arched bridges, explore the scenic grounds, and browse nearby shops offering local specialties such as Umegae Mochi, making this a memorable cultural stop in Kyushu. Admission to Dazaifu Tenmangu is free. Visitors can enter the shrine grounds and worship areas without paying an entrance fee. Some special exhibitions or museums within the shrine complex may charge a separate admission fee.
Kintetsu Beppu Ropeway is a scenic aerial cable car that carries visitors from Beppu to the slopes of Mt. Tsurumi, offering breathtaking panoramic views of Beppu Bay, the surrounding mountains, and the city below. At the summit, you can enjoy walking trails, observation decks, and seasonal landscapes, including vibrant flowers in spring, lush greenery in summer, colorful autumn foliage, and snow-covered scenery in winter, making it one of Kyushu's most popular sightseeing experiences. Admission to Beppu Ropeway is not free. Ropeway ticket: Required (round-trip or one-way tickets available). Approximate round-trip fare: Adults: ¥1,800 Children: ¥900 If your tour package includes the ropeway ticket, no additional payment is required. Otherwise, you will need to purchase your ticket on-site.
Umi Jigoku (Sea Hell) is one of Beppu's most famous hot spring attractions, known for its striking cobalt-blue geothermal pond created by naturally heated mineral-rich water. Although the steaming water reaches temperatures of nearly 100°C and is not suitable for bathing, visitors can stroll through beautifully landscaped gardens, view other geothermal features, and experience one of the most iconic "Hells of Beppu," making it a must-visit destination for nature and sightseeing enthusiasts. Admission: Umi Jigoku requires an entrance ticket. Adults: ¥500 Children (elementary school age): ¥250 Admission fees are subject to change.

With its blend of natural beauty, cultural charm, and traditional Japanese ambiance, Yufuin is one of Kyushu's most popular destinations. Yufuin is free to visit. There is no entrance fee to explore the town or walk around Kinrin Lake, although food, shopping, museums, and optional attractions may require additional payment.
Kinrin Lake is a peaceful and scenic lake in the heart of Yufuin, celebrated for its crystal-clear waters, natural hot spring-fed mist, and picturesque surroundings. Walking paths encircle the lake, allowing visitors to enjoy beautiful views throughout the year, with vibrant autumn foliage, lush greenery, and tranquil reflections creating a relaxing atmosphere. The lake is especially famous in the early morning when warm spring water meets the cool air, producing a magical mist over the water. Lunch expenses are not included.
