Embark on a thrilling wilderness adventure into YALA National Park, home to the world's most concentrated population of leopards! Sri Lankan leopard is a leopard subspecies native to Sri Lanka. YALA boasts approximately a hundred individual leopards. We aim to be in the YALA National Park in the first two hours of the day (6 to 8 a.m.) and/ or the last two hours of the day (4 to 6 p.m.). In the vernacular of wildlife enthusiasts, this is called "Golden Hours" which gives you the highest chance of spotting the elusive Sri Lankan leopards. Accordingly, we have planned 4 separate safari options for you to choose from. - Morning - Afternoon - 7-Hours - Full-day Within these tours to YALA, we will be able to give you opportunity to witness Sloth Bear, Elephants, Crocodiles, Monkeys, Spotted Dears, Mongoose, Birds and a plethora of other mesmerizing species. With every moment promising an unforgettable encounter, YALA offers a sanctuary where the extraordinary becomes the norm.

Pickup Locations & Times
Our driver/s will pick you up from the hotels in and around the Tissamaharama/ Kataragama/ Kirinda/ Weerawila/ Palatupana/ Yodha Kandiya area. They will pick you up for the 5-hours morning safari, 7-hours morning safaris or full-day safari at around 5.00 a.m. They will pick you up at around 2.00 p.m. for the Afternoon safari. The time will be slightly adjusted depending on the location of your hotel and the locations of other guests' hotels who are going to SHARE the safari with you. Sometimes, management of the hotels assign a location within the hotel premises other than the lobby area, for guests to be picked up by the drivers. Please communicate beforehand with the hotel staff and get to know the location, if not, the driver and you will be waiting for each other in two different locations. Be at the specific place on time and you will meet our driver. If you are travelling from a city outside our pick-up area to join the safari, come to the Ajith Safari Jeep Tours office at around 5.00 a.m. or 2.00 p.m. accordingly. Although we didn’t see any leapards we found the three hour safari amazing. The guide pointed out so much we wouldn’t have even noticed. We were picked up at 4am to avoid the overpowering mid morning heat. All admission costs were in the overall cost of our excursion.

Professional company and our safari driver was brilliant identifying different species Went over the allocated time as he wanted to make sure we saw as much as we could Saw 1 very well hidden leopard and lots of bird species, deer, crocodile, few elephants, peacocks, water buffaloes Bush safari so different to the Sigirya elephant safaris. Worth the visit
I joined the safari tour and got to see elephants, crocodiles, and rabbits. Although we couldn't see any leopards, our tour guide, Muthu, worked really hard to help us find the animals. It was a great experience!
Tikiri was our guide! He was awesome, made sure that we saw the leopards, elephants, deer and crocodiles. Good tour- good guide, would recommend.

Wow it was a fantastic day that will memorable for lifetime. Our guide was exceptional he was well knowledgeable about the park and the first sighting on the day was a leopard. That was a remarkable experience and we will definitely back to Sri Lanka and Yala next year.
