Before the experience, I thought the tour company would be more involved in the overall experience. I imagined our guide would accompany us through the salt mines and tell us about Krakow, its history, and the mines during the drive there and back. Instead, it was basically transportation to and from the mines, with the actual mine tour being separate. Only once I got to Krakow did I learn that you can also take the train directly to the salt mines. That said, our tour guide, Kate, was very nice and helpful. The meeting point was changed beforehand, but they communicated the new location clearly. However, the bus arrived more than 10 minutes late, and we weren’t given much information about what vehicle to look for beyond the company name. A group of us ended up approaching different tour buses as they arrived to ask if they were ours, which made the pickup unnecessarily confusing. After finishing the salt mine tour, we also had to wait more than 30 minutes for our driver to pick us up. Overall, the process at the mines themselves was very easy: we arrived, received our tickets from our guide, and joined the tour. But the transportation and pickup/drop-off portions were more stressful than I expected. The salt mines themselves were very cool, especially thinking about how people created and worked in such a huge underground space. However, I found the experience very heavily geared toward tourists and a little overrated compared with what I expected. I’m still happy I went because entering and exploring a mine like this was a very unique experience.

Excellent Experience
Excellent tour! Our guide, Lucasz, was very attentive, polite and knowledgable. I am subtracting one star because we, as a middle-aged couple, found it challenging to find our way back to the start having exited the caves. The local guide left us. If Lucasz had been waiting for us once we exited the mine (400m from where we began), it would have been perfect!

FAKE listing and information
We had a confirmed date and time for our pickup and no one showed up. Got included in a messy group chat with no clarify or clear communication. The tour guide and booker on viator must have had no communication. Completely unprofessional and a horrible waste of time. And of course money that I will absolutely get back from this scam.

Disjointed. Like I explained
I was disappointed of the service. 1. I didn't understand that it's not included the ticket. 2. The bus wasn't air-conditioned and it was a hot day. 3. After the mine visit we couldn't find the bus. 4. We could take a bus independently without Victor service it would be cheaper and comfortable.

Krakow salt mines
We originally wanted to do the austwich tour but it was unavailable so we tried the salt mines. They were very interesting, a lot of walking and stairs but worth it. It is an amazing sight especially the ballroom, the work that has gone into it is unbelievable. The length of time it has been happening is amazing. No wonder it is a unesco site. We had a guide called tomas and he was very knowledgable and made it fun for everyone. If you are fairly fit and good on your legs i recomend this tour.

Salt Mines Review
There are a large number of steps and quite alot of walking but it is manageable with breaks but definitely worth it.

Misleading
We paid £60 for a guided tour and hotel pickup and drop off, and were then told (the day before our booking) that it didn’t include tickets to the salt mines. We then had to pay £32 per person in addition for our tickets. Then when we got back, we got dropped at the bus station and there was no further transport back to our hotel. Overall very disappointing and title of trip very misleading. The salt mines itself was great but I would recommend to book elsewhere.

Living and learning
The Salt Mine tour itself was a great experience, but be careful if you pick the tour that picks you up at your hotel. The did pick me up at my hotel and transport me to the bus station for the trip to the salt mine, but the return trip ended at the bus station. I guess they thought they got you back into Krakow that was good enough. For the cost of the trip, I expected to be taken back to my hotel. I would suggest just taking a taxi or Uber to the bus station and avoid the disappointment.
