Itinerary
Dudhsagar Falls (literally Sea of Milk ) is a four-tiered waterfall located on the Mandovi River in the Indian state of Goa. It is 60 km from Panaji by road and is located on the Madgaon-Belagavi rail route about 46 km east of Madgaon and 80 km south of Belagavi. Dudhsagar Falls is amongst India’s tallest waterfalls with a height of 310 m (1017 feet) and an average width of 30 metres (100 feet). The falls is located in the Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary and Mollem National Park among the Western Ghats. The waterfall forms the border between Karnataka and Goa states. The area is surrounded by a deciduous forests with a rich biodiversity. The falls are not particularly spectacular during the dry season but during the monsoon season however, the falls are fed by rains and form a huge force of water.
The splendour of nature goes well with ancient traditions. At The Spice Plantation we nature have strived to maintain traditions in harmony with nature. We welcome our guests in a traditional way by offering Aarti, Kumkum, and a garland of flowers. Then the guests are served with herbal tea. Healthy and nutritious food is served in a traditional manner on a banana leaf.

This was a very special experience, Joaquim was the perfect guide with endless historical facts and stories. The ride in a jep to the waterfall was an fab, through riverbank and thick jungle. Then a short walk to the lake underneath the waterfall which was very refreshing. Would recommend to do as early as possible as it seems to get crowded throughout the day. The spice plantation was also very interesting to see, how our every day flavours grow and where they come from. All together it was a great day.
I didn’t realise (due to last minute research and planning) that the waterfalls would involve walking RIGHT UP to the waterfall. I had my GRANDMA with me! Gladys the tour guide was a godsend however, she really made me feel like someone was helping take care of my Grandma.
Francis and Brice were outstanding. The travel time is rather long and there were concerns that we would not return to the ship on time, but Francis worked hard to assure that there were no problems. The tour itself was great! The tour gets you out into the Indian countryside and certainly off the beaten path. Warnings about rough ride must be followed. This tour is an experience, not just photo stops. However, there are certainly many opportunities for photos that few other tourists will have. The spice plantation was less than what was expected.
I visited the Waterfall and the Tropical Garden as a guide to Stanley, a professional guide explaining the history and tradition of each city through which I went on the road to the waterfall, I highly recommend it.
Dear Sir/Mam, Thank you very much for the review and recommendation. Thanks & Regards Wilfred Fernandes
