What does minnewater mean? This is the Dutch name for the lake, which is made up of two Dutch words: minne, which means both "common" and "love", and water, which means "water". Thus, the most correct translation would mean translating the word minne as "common", since these were the "common waters, community waters, everyone's water" since it was where the old port of Bruges was located, a site closely linked to the city and the daily life of its citizens.
The beguinage is one of the most representative complexes of Bruges, a prelude to what you will find in this magical city, an environment anchored in the Middle Ages immersed in a sea of tranquility. In addition, it is declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
You will have the opportunity to take beautiful photos from the small bridge. Go ahead without stopping.
In this beautiful square, our guide will explain the history of Bruges beer.
Here our guide will teach us how to identify the original medieval houses.
In front of the Old St. John Hospital, our guide will explain how the health system worked in medieval Bruges.
Opposite the old Hospital de San Juan, we will find the Church of Our Lady. From the outside, our guide will explain some curiosities about the white marble sculpture of the Virgin and Child created by Michelangelo that is inside the church.
In front of Gruuthuse, we will meet the most famous and powerful family in Bruges between the 17th and 18th centuries.
The so-called Huidenvettersplein, the Plaza de los Curtidores, is part, within the medieval complex that is Bruges, of that corner that in history is occupied by the old craft guilds.
Everything from here seems taken from a fairy tale. It is impossible not to resist the temptation to take one of the boats and begin our walk through the Bruges canals at the Rosario Wharf. I used to go to this place late in the afternoon, or after dinner. You will take with you the best memories of this city, which by itself usually holds the best memories in all who visit it.
Burg Square is the political center of Bruges, a charming place where architecture lovers can enjoy buildings of different styles that have been erected over more than a thousand years of history.
In one of the few certified artisan chocolate shops, we will have the opportunity to taste artisan chocolates. Our guide will also tell us about the famous Bruges chocolate and give us some tips to distinguish handmade from industrial chocolate.

We were somewhat surprised that we would be joining a tour group that had taken a bus in from Brussels. The group was so large that it was divided up into two groups, which was good. However, the guide seemed fairly knowledgeable but was too quiet when speaking. We missed a lot of what was said because he did not speak up, even when I asked him to repeat himself. I think a little Google research before going to Bruges and walking around at your own leisure would have made for a better experience.
Great tour, Lei was our guide she was very friendly & explained everything. We had the canal & beer tasting tour & beer tasting was excellent & could do these 2 things in your own time which was great
Excellent Tour! Our guide was very knowledgeable about the city and gave us history about each sight. The boat ride was a great addition, allowing us to see the city from the canals.
Thank you Lea for a wonderful experience in Bruges! Great tour! Informative and funny too! Would definitely recommend.

Our guide harrise from Spain was lovely, he was very knowledgeable and easy to talk to.
A great walking tour of Bruges, and a lovely canal trip. Our guide, Leah, was fantastic. Really enjoyed it.
Our guide, Nicolas, was very pleasant, with lots of anecdotes and clear explanations, and he always had a smile.
Lyla was highly informative on the walking tour. The pace was easy (which was good as it was very hot in Brugge). She highlighted all the main points of interest and gave us handy tips of places to visit, eat, and drink. 2hr went by quickly. All in all good tour and highly recommended.
Bruges is beautiful and it was great to get to hear about it from a local, with her insights and local knowledge.
