Walking Tour New Town of Prague, WWII & Communism (Tip-based)

Description

When you talk about Prague you usually talk about the old town because the idea is that all the history of the city is hidden there. Nothing could be further from the truth. The new city is almost as old and was actually built only 100 years later. There is therefore just as much to see in the new city, if not even more than in the old city. The tour starts at the St. Ludmilla Church, the most important and special church in the city of Prague after St. Vitus Cathedral. To end the tour we dive into Operation Anthropoid, one of the most important operations in Czech history. The attack on SS commander Reinhard Heydrich was in any case the most important event in the Czech Republic during the Second World War. Since we are in the area, we end the tour at the dancing house. Tired from the tour? No problem because you are at Naplavka, the nicest terraces on the quay of the Vltava River. Here you can relax by the water.

Fun but not exciting enough

For the money not spectacular, had nice spontaneous guide Olga , very quick of tongue, so had to listen carefully, been nice piece underground and saw torture tools. She knew a lot about it so it wasn't her fault but given the previous trip we had with a guide whose tip you could determine yourself vie die overihet44 LLP l

Beste, U heeft deze beoordeling bij de verkeerde aanbieder geplaatst. Onze tour in de Praagse "New Town" vindt alleen in de zomer plaats en bij ons werkt ook helemaal geen Olga. Met vriendelijke groet, Team I Love Praag

Great walk, guide was a delight.

The start point was easy to find, the walking pace was leisurely and the surroundings like most of Prague are beautiful. This was our last day in Prague and we were looking for the operation anthropoid history. The guide Marge (apologies if your name is spelt incorrectly) was informative and as I said a delight. We took in a lot of the features you would expect and a few we were unaware of. I wish we had done this on day one as it really does give you a good understanding of the city and its layout. Thank you again really helpful and a great way to spend the day. Ps your timing to get to the moving head was amazing. Well done and thank you again. A must given the price of some tours in Prague these days, this tour really hits the mark.
