Walking through ages: 11th to 21st century, Prague flavoured

Description
A walking tour through Prague’s four main squares (Hradčany, Lesser Town, Old Town, and Wenceslas) takes you through centuries, from the 11th to the 21st. Prague is called the "heart of Europe" for a reason—many events that shook the continent, like the Reformation and the Thirty Years' War, began here. It has seen both glory, as the capital of the Holy Roman Empire and young Czechoslovakia, and decline, as a mere city of Austro-Hungary. Its medieval churches, baroque palaces, and Bauhaus quarters hold memories of it all. For centuries, Prague was a crossroads of German, Jewish, and Czech cultures. The Golem was created here; Doctor Faust lived here. It’s linked to Mozart, Kafka, and Milos Forman. This is a 4-hour-long walk, at a moderate pace, with stops at sights for storytelling and conversation. It runs in small groups in a non-scripted conversational format and is fully exterior. You'll get practical advice too.

Itinerary
Prague’s dominant landmark and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the seat of Bohemian rulers since the 10th century.
We'll have a brief look at St Vitus Cathedral, world-famous gothic masterpiece and symbol of Czech state, and the Prague Castle - the cradle of Czech state and nation and world's largest castle.
The square in front of Prague Castle, surrounded by 17th century palaces of most powerful noblemen and offering a stunning view on the city.
Prague Lesser Town, one of the best preserved baroque quarters of Europe, with lush gardens, majestic palaces and fancy houses, full of cosy restaurants, small shops and other attractions.
The center of the Lesser Town with St Nicholas church, a baroque jewel.
A jewel of Prague Baroque architecture — its dome is one of the most recognisable sights on Prague’s skyline.
Main landmark of Prague, 700-years old bridge decorated by numerous statues and allowing majestic views over the city.
Jewish quarter rebuilt on the border of 19th-20th centuries, a masterpiece of neorenaissance and art nouveau styles.
One of the oldest surviving synagogues in Europe, dating back to 1270. Legend has it that the closed attic holds the remains of the Golem — a human-like creature that served its master.

Legendary Old Town of Prague, with Charles University - one of the oldest in Europe, Estates Theater - the only remaining theater which saw Mozart perform, and a lot more.
The only theater in the world still in operation where Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart personally conducted his operas.
The flagship building of Czech Art Nouveau, built on the site of the former Royal Court. Completed on the eve of Czechoslovak independence, it was conceived as a celebration of Czech art and national identity — and it was here that the new state was proclaimed in 1918.
The main square of new-time Prague, remembering all the movements of 20th and 21st centuries, a place that never sleeps. Mixture of epochs and styles - gothic church of Our Lady of the Snows, which was meant to be the biggest in Prague, neo-classical National Museum , Art Deco Hotel Europa and even rondocubism from third decade of the 20th century.

It was quite an experience! It was very intense and original walk, we walked many kilometers, and though we were always in the historical center, we somehow avoided crowds and followed authentic lanes and streets with character. We saw a lot, from very old stuff to 20th century quarters. And the stories our guide was telling were just as authentic, not coming from any guidebook but giving a live feeling of history and character. I really recommend this tour for those who want to go beyond cliches.
Really loved this tour. Vadim, the guide, made the history feel alive and connected everything with stories and little details I would’ve completely missed on my own. It was more than a conversation than a lecture, and I’d recommend it for those looking for conversation and getting deeper into history.
Beautiful walking tour to places we didn’t even know to ask about! ♥️
Vadim was very knowledgeable and helpful. I was really impressed with his deep knowledge of each subject. Would highly recommend his service.
A beautiful heritage and historical walk of 4 hours. The friendly Vadim guide knew the city well and the anecdotes of its history. Despite a French sometimes hesitant we recommend this visit!
My son and I took a tour of Prague with Vadim. He was extremely knowledgeable and tailored the tour to our requirements and interests.
Really enjoyed this tour. Vadim was very knowledgeable and he gave us detailed responses to all our many questions. He also tailored the tour to our timing requirements.
Vadim was great. Very professional and knowledgeable. Maybe it's better to come in the summer, but even in winter I had a great time. The Castle is probably the best of all.
Vadim was a great tour guide, he picked us up from our hotel and we went into the trams to Prague castle. It was great to learn how to use the trams so we can get around easier during our stay. He was full of knowledge about every area we visited, some old and some new. He also gave us recommendations of places to eat and drink during our stay. Great tour
