Visiting Livingston town, african market

120 min

Discover one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World on a guided tour of Victoria Falls, locally known as Mosi-oa-Tunya—“The Smoke That Thunders.” This awe-inspiring waterfall stretches nearly 1.7 kilometers wide and plunges over 100 meters into the Zambezi Gorge, creating a breathtaking spectacle of mist, rainbows, and roaring water. Your tour takes you along well-maintained rainforest pathways and designated viewpoints, each offering a unique perspective of the Falls. Learn about the geology, flora, and cultural significance of this UNESCO World Heritage Site as you experience its raw power up close. Whether it’s the thundering spray, the lush rainforest atmosphere, or the panoramic views across to Zambia, a visit to Victoria Falls is a truly unforgettable highlight of any Southern African journey.

120 min

Experience Victoria Falls from the Zambian side, where a network of trails and bridges brings you right to the heart of the spray. Known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya—“The Smoke That Thunders”—this UNESCO World Heritage Site offers dramatic, close-up encounters with the world’s largest curtain of falling water. Walk across the famous Knife-Edge Bridge, where the thundering water and swirling mist create a powerful, immersive experience. Depending on the season, you’ll see everything from the full flood of the Zambezi River to exposed rock formations and smaller cascades. Along the way, your guide shares insights into the geology, history, and cultural significance of the Falls. With fewer viewpoints but more direct encounters, the Zambian side offers an intimate, unforgettable perspective of this natural wonder.

Pass by

As part of your journey between Zimbabwe and Zambia, you will pass over the historic Victoria Falls Bridge, a remarkable steel arch structure built in 1905. Spanning 198 meters across the Batoka Gorge, the bridge offers sweeping views of the Zambezi River and the mist rising from the nearby Falls, known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya (“The Smoke That Thunders”). The bridge not only connects two countries but also two cultures, and crossing it involves standard border formalities at the respective immigration posts. While we will not be stopping on the bridge itself, the drive across offers a unique perspective of this engineering feat and its dramatic setting. Guests should ensure they carry the correct travel documents for border clearance, as procedures vary depending on nationality and visa requirements.

Fantastic experience!

We were picked up, on time, by Sheldon at our lodging. He was kind, and very informational! He took us through the boarder crossing and handed us off to Delphister who was our guide on the Zambia side viewing, absolutely delightful! Then back to the Zimbabwe side and viewing. The entire experience was seamless and joyful! I would not have wanted to figure out the two border crossings and the passport inspections without these guides. Everything is a bit confusing.

Operator response

Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that Sheldon and Delphister made your experience smooth, informative, and enjoyable. We truly understand that navigating the two border crossings and passport inspections can be confusing, so we’re glad our guides were there to make everything seamless for you. It was a pleasure having you with us, and we really appreciate your kind words and support. We hope to welcome you back to Victoria Falls again in the future! 🙏🌍

Lamentable provider

Lamentable, I had to cancel because they confirmed to me that my hotel was suitable for pickup and the day before the excursion they told me it was not suitable. A scam and very bad service. The activity provider is trash

Operator response

We understand your frustration, but we also feel that this review is unfair and does not accurately reflect what happened. We contacted you two days before the scheduled activity to clarify the pickup arrangements. At the time of booking, we were not aware that your accommodation, Pinel Retreat Centre, is located on the village side, approximately 20 km from Victoria Falls town, where our standard tour vehicles operate. The road/access conditions to the property are not suitable for our vehicles, which is why we informed you as soon as we became aware of the situation. Unfortunately, you decided not to proceed with the tour. We also made every effort to communicate with you via WhatsApp, but we were disappointed by the insulting language used towards our team when we were simply trying to find a solution. We always strive to provide a professional service and communicate with our guests as clearly as possible. We sincerely regret the inconvenience, but describing our service as a “scam” and calling our team “garbage” is unfair, especially since the activity was not actually undertaken. We respect your disappointment, but we kindly ask that reviews accurately reflect the circumstances and the service that was actually provided.

Victoria Falls

An amazing experience, Zambia fee $20 each and Zimbabwe $58 each. Receipted at both sides. Our Tour guides Delphister for Zambia and Michael for Zimbabwe were excellent. Extremely informative and obviously have a love for the Falls. At this time of year rain capes are a must, the mist was extreme and certain parts very very wet, but the rainbows are just fantastic. The border crossing was very smooth and our guides ensured the process was quick and easy. In summary highly recommended.

You're absolutely right—the mist can be spectacular at this time of year, and the breathtaking rainbows make getting a little wet well worth it! An Outstanding Private Tour of Both Sides of Victoria Falls

Our private tour of both the Zimbabwe and Zambia sides of Victoria Falls was exceptional from beginning to end. Sheldon was everything we could have hoped for in a guide. He was punctual, professional, warm, and incredibly knowledgeable about the falls, birds, wildlife, history, and local culture. He paid close attention to our pace and adjusted easily whenever we wanted to slow down, stop longer, or move more quickly. His sense of humor made the day even more enjoyable, and he immediately put us at ease. We truly could not have imagined a better guide. There is absolutely nothing we would suggest improving. On the Zambia side, Delphisti was helpful throughout the experience. She kept us informed about the border-crossing process, was knowledgeable about the history and culture of Zambia and the falls, took her time with us, and was kind and patient. We would gladly recommend both Sheldon and Delphisti. We also highly recommend touring both sides of Victoria Falls to experience the full scope of the falls and better understand how Zimbabwe and Zambia each connect to and differently share this extraordinary World Wonder.

Enjoyable Tour

Enjoyed this tour thoroughly with Shelton as our quide. Visited Victoria falls at a leisurely pace. with lots of stops and photo opportunities. Could not visit the Zambia side due to visa requirement, only went upto the bridge. At the end of the tour had lunch at the look out cafe, which was a great experience by itself The whole experience was elevated due to the Agency, Akost Safari and the guide, who were very flexible and easy going. Highly recommend this tour.

We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back for another adventure in the future!

Wonderful, but very, very wet!

This adventure went as planned. Pickup was on time. Border crossing from Zimbabwe to Zambia & return was very crowded & disorganized, so having help from the guides was a very good thing. The falls are beautiful, but this year, at least, in late June, you will get soaked, despite the rain gear supplied. Make sure anything you carry is waterproof. My leather bag was totally wet, including cash & passports! Still it's worth the effort & the private tour was really good.

Operator response

Thank you for your wonderful review! We're delighted to hear everything went as planned and that our guides made the busy border crossing much easier. June is indeed one of the most spectacular times to experience Victoria Falls, and the spray can be intense! We appreciate your helpful tip for future travelers to bring waterproof bags for valuables. Thank you for choosing us, and we hope to welcome you back for another adventure in the future!

Shelton is a great guide

Our guide Shelton was great. Once he passed us to the guide on the Zambian side, she walked us over and then said she had another tour with the other company she works for, she left us to do the tour on our own, told us she'd come back, she never did. Based on that I should rate lower, but Shelton was really great so I'd still recommend, hopefully they work with more reliable guides on the Zambian side in the future. Thanks Shelton!

Operator response

Thank you for your honest feedback and for your kind words about Shelton. We're delighted to hear he made a positive impression. We sincerely apologize for your experience on the Zambian side, as this is not the level of service we aim to provide. Your comments have been noted, and we'll address this with our local partner to ensure a better experience for future guests. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you again.

The walking tour worth booking

We booked a combined guided walking tour on the Zambian and Zimbabwian side, which we would highly recommend. The Company organized everything for us, from pick up at tbe hotel, water, raincoats and the transfer at the border. Everything worked perfectly. Mike was our guide on the Zambian side, and he was very knowledgeable on the falls, the history and Zambia overall. He told us when to put on our flip flops, so we would not get too wet, and made sure we had the best experience. View on the falls was wonderful, although you see more from Zimbabwe. Still woth seeing. Most fun was to see the Zambuan visitors, they love nothing more than getting soaking wet. Interestingly, most visitors on the Zambian side were Zambian, compared to the Zimbabwian side, where most are Foreigners. Our guide in ZW was Michael, he was very knowkedgeable too, and we had great experience. Also all was taken care off. Is it worth booking the walking tour? Absolutely. We learned so much from our guides that would not be in a guidebook
